Rude and chaotic. We wanted to get breakfast around 10:30am, we figured it would be busy so we attempted to make a reservation so we could be seated in a timely manner. We discovered that the reservation option had been disabled. We arrived at the restaurant and was told it would be near a two hour wait, we were kind and understanding (even though it’s very odd that there would be a wait but no option to get on a wait list prior to physically showing up) We were a few minutes from the Dallas Museum of Art so we decided to kill time there. Around an hour later we were told our table was ready, we immediately stopped what we were doing and headed to the restaurant. (Keep in mind we paid fifteen dollars for this museum and didn’t get to finish it due to inaccurate time frames) When we arrived back at the restaurant we were told we wouldn’t be seated because we took thirteen minutes to arrive instead of five. We were told we would be seated next. I was not upset at the information but instead how i was spoken to. Who I assume to be the manager was EXTREMELY rude and aggressive to me and I didn’t find it necessary. He refused to even give me a new estimate wait time because my friend was parking our car. When I asked questions he would just say “we have rules, we don’t seat incomplete parties.” I understand having rules but I saw no reason why I couldn’t be given any Information just because the other person was walking toward the building and not inside the building. It was also a party of TWO and the second person was ON PROPERTY. It felt very deliberate. I was basically told to just wait in a corner indefinitely with no Information. I find it ridiculous that I can wait AN HOUR for their table but they can’t wait thirteen minutes? Was I supposed to stand in the door way the entire time? Ridiculous. I would also like to state that there was at least ten empty tables, he simply could have sat us without any hassle. He also went out of his way to “confront” me again and immediately assumed I had negative intent when talking to one of his (NICER) staff members. (I wasn’t even complaining they asked if we had been helped) Let’s hope the food is good because the customer service, communication and...
Read moreMy friend’s birthday is on Friday so I let her choose a place to go eat before she heads out of town to celebrate. She chose YOLK. I wish she wouldn’t have. She enjoyed her chicken and waffles and red velvet French toast and that’s really all that mattered to me because it’s her birthday gift from me, but I ordered the steak and eggs and it was terrible. When the plate was sat on the table I could look at the steak tell it wasn’t cooked properly. The outside was grey so I know it wasn’t seared properly and if it wasn’t seared properly then it couldn’t have rested for the proper amount of time to achieve a proper medium rare steak. It looked boiled. I touched it to see if the internal temperature was correct and my finger sunk through the steak so I already knew it would be blue on the inside. I cut into it and I was right. It was blue. I asked my server Heather if I could switch my meal, she said I need to talk to a manager which I completely understand so it took him about 10 minutes to come over and when he did he proceeded to tell me that the steak was cooked to the proper temperature and that’s how the do “their” medium rare. I was thinking…medium rare is medium rare. There are no different kinds of medium rare. I was very confused by that statement. I told him that I am a Chef and I know what a proper medium rare steak looks like and it’s not this. He looked frustrated. I asked him if I could change my meal and he said yes with frustration. I ordered one of the 3 scrambled entrees and received it and was disappointed again. It was under seasoned, it was supposed to have chorizo in it, but I didn’t taste any flavor at all. The potatoes were a minute away from being undercooked, but I definitely didn’t send it back because I didn’t want them to think I was looking for a free meal so I paid for a very underwhelming meal. I will never go back to YOLK because I wasn’t satisfied with my meal or the way it was handled by the manager. My server Heather was nice though and she had great customer service. She was definitely the highlight...
Read moreI ordered through ubereats. The only reason I ordered yolk was because it was 800 feet away from my hotel . Which means there is no way I could receive cold food. The restaurant let my food sit for 59 mins before I received a driver . Common courtesy would’ve noticed my food was sitting way longer than expected and to at least remake it. I understand drivers take longer than expected, but if you’re realizing my food is sitting longer than expected remake it. Why send me food that you KNOW HAD BEEN SITTING. I tried calling the restaurant to resolve the situation . There was no accountability, no offer to remake the food, no apology. Don’t eat here.
UPDATE & response to the restaurant’s comment: Two meals for the price of one ? Why would I eat cold food and expect another meal to be made ? Common sense isn’t always common , I would never call a restaurant and complain about something that I’ve already ate. The food was never eaten! I even explained that to who ever I talked to on the phone . Which is why I called to rectify the situation. Telling me I could’ve came to pick up food when your restaurant has the option for delivery is crazy and ignorant. No accountability, no apologies, it’s literally Hilarious. Keep better track of your Uber eats orders , Monitor the tables that was provided by Uber/doordash to see when drivers are arriving THEN BEGAN TO MAKE FOOD. Your cooking breakfast that literally takes no Longer than 10-15 mins. How cold you stomach sending out cold food that you KNOW has been sitting for a hour ? I order food almost everyday I’ve never had this experience. Most restaurants would’ve be accommodating and understanding but I see this restaurant truly believe that they did nothing wrong . Very arrogant and argumentative over something so simple that could’ve been fixed. Lastly , how can a remake be made through Uber eats ? I’m not new to this I’m...
