I recently stumbled upon Ladies Sugar Shack Barbecue while visiting Daytona Beach, and I can’t express how thrilled I am to have found this hidden gem! As soon as I walked in, I was warmly greeted by the lovely daughters of the owner, who was also present, making the atmosphere feel like a home away from home.
Even though I arrived just after closing time, they graciously stayed open to prepare my order, demonstrating their commitment to excellent customer service. The mother’s passion for her business truly shines through, and it made my dining experience all the more special.
Now, let's talk about the food! I’ve sampled barbecue across the country, from Texas to South Carolina and Georgia, but Ladies Sugar Shack has truly mastered the craft. The flavors were outstanding! The mac & cheese was absolutely to die for—creamy, cheesy, and not to mention the stellar delicious pulled pork that took it to the next level. Don’t even get me started on the southern-style green beans; they were bursting with flavor and perfectly cooked.
Overall, I was incredibly impressed with the entire experience. If you’re in Daytona Beach and craving some top-notch barbecue and soul food, look no further than Ladies Sugar Shack Barbecue. This has officially become my new go-to spot! I can't wait to return and try more of their mouthwatering dishes. I tried to include photos, but I’ll be honest. I took one bite of the meal and I couldn’t stop eating it so what you’re saying is just part of my meal when I realized it was so good. I wanted to do a review and I probably should...
Read moreMy wife and friend wanted BBQ and decided to try this spot. 1st issue is it smelled off almost moldy or something in the walls or carpet. The service was terrible charged for double meat and got barley a full serving ordered the brisket it was cold and had a tangy taste and was soaked in sause. To me I should have stopped then.. I'm writing this on a Sunday and when. We are Friday afternoon and I have been sicker than I have my entire life. The first time I had food poisoning. Don't wish it on the world. Wife had the pulled pork and said it didn't taste right and decided not to eat.. wish she warned me. Some snowbirds 50s folks showed up and 180 they got awesome service blockbuster award I would say. Bottom line the brisket was old and spoiled the pork was spoiled. The health department needs to be called. If those snow birds at that age get sick that would jeopardize their health. I'm from Texas.. worst food in my life. I believe they served up spoiled contaminated meat and it is a health hazard to the highest violations. to anyone who chose to dine there be prepared to get a iv at the ER on day 3 to replenish from throwing up and peeing out ones rear. Insane this place is open or is allowed to be operational. Beware of...
Read moreWe did not have a good experience here. The place is very empty that was a first sign for us, but we still decided to give it the benefit of the doubt. We didn’t get to try our favorites, like Baked Mac n cheese, candied yams, and fried chicken, they were out of those food items. The items we did choose weren’t all that great, except for the fried okra and fried green tomatoes, they were very delicious. My husband caught food poisoning, he vomited the pulled pork, he was just sent home from work. He also is experiencing diarrhea. My son did not like their peach cobbler, their banana pudding is very sweet. The rice with gravy didn’t have enough gravy, the toast was kind of burnt. The baked beans were nice and sweet. I didn’t care for the potato salad. Southern style Green beans were ok. My son said the collard greens were ok. Cornbread was too dry. We went around dinner time, alot of those popular food items should have been available. I was told the Mac n cheese was in the oven. We spent $168.00 for a family of 5. It was not worth the...
