So here’s the sitch: I ordered from Marco’s in Deadwood. Almost $50 worth of food. You’d think I was ordering a Michelin-starred feast with that price, right? Nope. Just wanted some pizza to show up reasonably warm and on time.
They said 30–45 mins. Cute.
Cut to over an hour later, stomach rumbling, still no food. I call just to check on the order—literally opened with “Hi! Just wanting to check on an order I placed a while ago—” and before I could even say my name or order number, the guy on the phone goes:
“Oh, for delivery? Pretty sure the driver’s on the way,” click — he hangs up.
Sir. SIR. You didn’t ask my name. You didn’t verify a thing. You could’ve been talking about ANY order. At that point, I was one minor inconvenience away from manifesting into your walk-in freezer and haunting the garlic sauce.
Oh—and my location? Yeah, it’s like 10 minutes away. Ten. As in single-digit plus one. If the driver left when you said, he must’ve made a pit stop in another timeline, because it’s still not here.
I don’t expect luxury service from a pizza joint. But I do expect basic decency, communication, and not being ghosted by my dinner. Do better, Marco’s. Because at this point, I could’ve made a pizza, opened my own restaurant, earned a Michelin star, and still gotten it out faster than this.
And next time your staff wants to answer the phone with the warmth of a DMV employee on their last nerve, maybe train them to say “hello” first.

Read moreLet the significant number of 1 Star reviews be your warning As one of the only places and a preferred chain from my time living in California, I've given this place waayyyy too much money and too many chances. Any custom order has been messed up. Some of the family is vegan so we'll pay upwards of $35 each (they don't have a veggie option so you pay for each topping, even though there is less of each topping as you add different veggies...) And stress SEVERAL TIMES, NO CHEESE. But literally EVERY time it has cheese and we can either wait another 20+ minutes, or make them pick through the cheese. Always add the crust toppers but they rarely come through. Check while you're at the counter or you're out of luck. Also had a guy that worked for them hassle my sister while she waited in my truck in the Marcos pick up area, telling her there was no pick up order and she needed to move. I was inside waiting and after she called me upset, I went on ahead and let the DBag get an earful. Terribly managed but they run in a casino hotel so customer satisfaction is probably the only thing on their list lower than employee cleanliness

Read moreThe food is okay, but I don't understand their "processing fees". I would understand if I paid using a CC and they had a policy, but I paid cash and got the pizza directly from their counter (no delivery). There's no note or explanation for it on their website. At 4%+ of the pretax purchase it seems dishonest to have these hidden fees.
Edit: In response to their comment below, they actually have direct messaging disabled on their facebook. The Rapid City location not only does NOT charge a hidden "processing fee" but they also have messaging enabled on facebook. So not only is this location trying to nickel and dime you with hidden fees that are NOT company wide policy or website error, but they tell you to message them directly and then actively made the decision to remove that feature. So they want credit by nature of virtue signaling in the reviews that they will "make it right" without actually making it right. You don't need to investigate my order, you can go on your website right now and add any order for your location and it will show a...
