Pros, it is located on almost the middle of main street. They free valet parking. The hotel is well maintained. The hallways have a contemporary vibe. The walls are painted burgundy, black and tan to match the carpet. The lighting is contemporary in the hallways. The main lobby is old school with chandeliers.
The check in process went fairly quick. There were three people at the front desk but only one was checking in people. However, the price I was quoted online is not the price I paid. It was supposed to be 158.00 with fees. I ended up paying over 187.00. So, be careful. The gentleman that checked us in was very polite and helpful, with regards to parking and directions for various actives.
The room was clean but the wallpaper was pealing and the title in the bathroom popped when you walked on it. If your room is on the front side of the hotel you will hear everything that is going on. So, I recommend getting a room on the back side, unless you like hearing the night life of Deadwood. However, they do turn down your bed at 5:30ish and put a turtle chocolate on your nightstand.
Restaurant, is the Gem. It servers breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is reasonably priced but a little high for what you get. My daughter got the French toast and bacon (was crispy). Both were good. I got the English muffin that an over medium egg, bacon and cheddar cheese on it. The egg was over cooked but over all it was ok. You get a free Mimosa with breakfast and beer with lunch. Thus, price of food reflects the free drinks. The restaurant was clean but service was sporadic. It was dead when we arrived. There were three waitresses. We were immediately seated but it took a few minutes before we were checked on and asked for our order. Most of the staff was doing side...
Read moreI don't understand some of the reviews I've read. Our stay here was incredible!! The rooms are gorgeous and well done. The soaker tub, the fireplace, the shower, and a separate toilet room were all so perfect! The furniture was beautiful as well. They had everything you could want, even slippers for getting out of bed. The robes were such a wonderful touch too. The vintage look and design was beautiful and classy. Nothing needed updating in our room, it was perfect the way it was. The casino was a blast and I loved being so close to everything that we could walk and have a great time. The valet parking, how awesome! Unfortunately, we were in a work vehicle and couldn't use it, so they led us to where we could park then drove us back in their van. That was perfect, you don't have to use the valet if you don't want to. I wish we could've because that's a nice service to have. Everything about Mineral Palace exceeded my expectations in every way. I seriously am in love with this hotel and the room we had!! According to the other reviews, you can't please everyone. Who would want a sterile modern hotel while staying in Deadwood anyways? Maybe choose a different place if you're looking for something you'd find in California. Western vintage is gorgeous and they nailed it!! Plus, the duck is such a cute bonus🤠🎲🎰 We can't wait to come back and stay...
Read moreThey didn't have our correct reservation on file, even though we made the reservation for an accessible room 4 months in advance. Booking confirmation reminder sent by them a week before stay also was for an accessible room as one of the individuals staying used a wheelchair. Once arrived, they said they didn't have an accessible room remaining and had changed our room. They stated it was on the 3rd floor, problem was the elevator was out of service. They checked with maintenance and was told, "it should work". Well, we got trapped in the elevator once on our way to breakfast. After not having the proper reservation and being stuck in the elevator, there STILL was no discount, free/discount meal, casino match play, anything. They were generous enough to give us a rubber duck with their logo on it as a gift (a gift they normally sell for $5). The GEM Steakhouse on-sight was good. The casino was adequate and fun. They front staff wasn't the friendliest. The bar, casino and steakhouse staff was great to deal with. Overall, we would not recommend any of our friends, family or acquaintances to stay here. Amenities were dated and things seemed...
