Booked a pre-paid king suite reservation at the Hampton Inn for 2 nights. Upon arrival checked in and got to the room. The room door was left propped open unsecured, and determined the door lock was broken in the open position. Desk staff couldn’t fix the lock and the hotel was sold out.
They contacted the Sheraton next door ran by the same management company, LIV Hospitality. The agent had them hold a room for us. In the 3 minutes it took us to walk over to the Sheraton desk they had given the last room away they were to hold for us.
Having been sent out into the street twice by LIV Hospitality hotels we found a hotel on our own. Two days later we noticed they billed us for the two night stay that never occurred. It took multiple days, and multiple attempts to finally get refunded by LIV Hospitality. The next day they billed us again for the stay that never occurred. Again, it took us multiple days and multiple attempts to get our money back.
The hotel we ended up booking on our own was at the Doubletree (another LIV Hospitality multiple hotel/casino complex) the hotel was nice as was the complex. When checking out there was a bill for $60+ added to our room on the same night we ate there and paid via credit card. Unfortunately, it took multiple emails, texts, and phone calls for days after our vacation to get reimbursed.
At one point the representative from LIV Hospitality who finally returned our call said David Knight from LIV Hospitality would call us to address all the issues. He never did, no one from the LIV Hospitality office ever contacted us.
I hope our experience is not indicative of the typical treatment guests experience. After being left without a room twice, billed 3 times for over $600 and having to chase down and fight to get our money back, we will no longer stay at any LIV Properties in Deadwood. (Hampton Inn, Sheraton, Springhill, Doubletree, TRU hotels and Cadillac Jack’s Gaming Resort & Tin Lizzy Gaming Resort.
If you choose to stay at any of their properties, I hope your experience is memorable for all the right reasons, unfortunately, ours will be remembered for all the...
Read moreWe booked our room close to kool deadwood nights so the price was high, that was on us. When we arrived, the parking was a nightmare. We could not figure out how to get to the hotel so we called. When we called they told us two different street names to turn down because he wasn’t sure which name it was. Once we found the road, they told us to park under the sloped canopy where we could unload luggage and get our parking tickets. Well that sloped canopy was not the correct canopy to be under in the first place. Additionally, valet parking was advertised on the website but when we arrived we were informed that they have not done that for a few years. A pool was also advertised but they do not have that anymore either. The parking lot was across the street from the hotel and does not have enough room at all. We had planned on doing some canyon driving but did not want to move our car for fear of not getting a spot. Upon entering our room, we found that our air conditioner was full of water and was leaking onto the carpet which wound up getting the carpet sopping wet. They came up and vacuumed the water out, and in less than a full day it had filled up again. After complaining a second time they replaced the entire unit and the problem did not persist. Also the shower door does not stay shut without Wedging it shut with a rag. Also, do not plan on using a roku or Amazon fire stick as you are not allowed to change the input on the tv due to their contract with the cable provider. The stairwells smell like something died in it and both of the chairs in our room were quite filthy. Like I said, the high price was on us for booking close to the busy week, but the high price also does make me kind of expect a little more out of the room and I was overall...
Read moreNeeded a place to stay last minute, instead of going online we were passing the place and decided to walk in and see what they had available. The lady informed us that it would be 350 a night to stay with them. We kinda figured it would be this nice place so we decided to stay a few nights. With that amount of money we figured it would have a pool and the works. No pool, nothing but a little gym, bar and casino. When we got to the room we realized the room online would have been only a 100 bucks and it was only a 2-3 star hotel. Feeling frustrated I went and played on the machines. Probably some of the tightest machines I’ve ever played. Didn’t give me anything to play with after a few hundred dollars. Also they barely go around and ask you if you want something to drink and are rude. Isn’t really any good games neither, they have pretty much all of the same machines, no variety. Room service doesn’t make your bed, doesn’t change your towels, literally picks up the ones from the floor and puts them back on the shelf. You can tell because of the stains. They will take out the little trash bags and that’s it. Bathroom sink leaks, rooms are small and cramped. It has a sliding door to your bathroom with no lock which is fun. You are right next to the highway so all you hear is cars and bikes go by all night. The breakfast was good and it’s right in Deadwood, those were the only good things. After an experience like this I never wanna stay in this town ever again, keep up the good...
