We’d been excited to try Mr. Bill’s because the branding is on point—retro, fun, and exactly the kind of vibe that gets you hyped for a great donut shop experience. Unfortunately, the reality couldn’t have been more disappointing.

Walking in on a Saturday morning, the place was dark, drab, and completely silent. No music, no energy—just clutter everywhere, and it honestly felt dirty. We were greeted by a confident but awkward gentleman whose first words were, “Which one do you want? What do you want?” We tried to lighten the mood by joking, “All of them,” and he shot back, “Nope, you can’t do that. You can have one of each.” Not exactly the warm welcome we expected.

We asked if the apple fritters had real apples in them—since many shops don’t—and he assured us they did, even calling them his favorite. Lo and behold, there were zero apples inside, and the fritter was tough as leather. The strawberries and cream donut wasn’t any better—it didn’t taste fresh at all, more like something from a pre-made mix than anything made with care or quality ingredients. He also never quoted us a price, ran our card and never gave us a receipt. Super awkward.

Been here 4 times, kept trying to give them a chance, and kept getting disappointed time after time. Cold food served to the table, really impatient lady at the front the first time we went & needed to read over the menus. I really wanted to like this place. I still really do..
