So cant leave the country but are dying to go to Italy? If Positano Italy is your culinary day dream, hurry on down to Positanos trattoria in downtown Deland, walk in sit down look a the mural of the town Positano order your food. As it arrives to your table you will know you are there if only in a dream. The food comes out as in Italy beautifully presented scattered service and by that i mean i love it, its presented as its made it doesnt sit around and wait for the other apps to be ready as each dish arrives at optimum goodness. It gives diners the luxury of sharing and savoring each and every bite and waiting in anticipation of the next dish. Italian food is a beautifully simplistic style of cooking that is subtle and yet complex in it simplicity. If your looking for dried Italian seasoning in your tomato sauce this isnt the place for you, or is it, if you are willing to step out of your comfort zone and open your taste buds to perfection run dont walk to this resturant. Im not going to recommend anything in particular because i loved everything I ordered. Hes a great host and he aims to please his guests he actually wants to...
Read moreMy family and I were super excited to try this place out as the reviews on the food and service were pretty good. The home made pasta is what we were really excited about and we expected service would be a bit slow due to the overall staff shortage and the home made process. What we didn’t expect was to be treated without any courtesy or regard! I don’t like to leave negative reviews as I too was once in the service industry and places may have their off days but this was almost blatant. My family of 5 walked in on a not so busy Friday night. One of the servers said we can sit at a table that had a reservation place holder on it so we did. We sat for 15 minutes with no one asking us for a menu or our drinks. This place is small and open where if you’re at the bar area you can see the whole restaurant. Instead a couple walked in was seated next to us, and the server walked right by our table handed them menus and asked for their drinks. Still no acknowledgment to our table that she walked by. By this point we had grabbed our own menus but still no one acknowledged us. Needless to say we took our business elsewhere where we spent a few hundred dollars and over tipped because the service...
Read moreMy my friend and I came with my dog here! Very pet friendly, only a few outside seating areas but the staff were so so sweet! The waiter made sure we were enjoying our food and offered water for our dog (he had his own though so we didn’t need any haha). After we ate and paid (the food was amazing by the way!! We had a personal pizza, Calamari, and the tiramisu) the waiter noticed my friend and I still talking and offered to refill our drinks and was super friendly and not pushy at all 😊 While we we talking a strange man came up to our table and started talking with us, we could tell he was a little “off” and so we talked with him so he wouldn’t get mad at us and cause issues etc. the waiter and possibly the owner came out and offered for us to sit inside even with my dog for safety. They did it discretely too so as not to agitate the person. I felt like I’d known these ppl who worked here for a long time because of how caring and friendly they were to us, their customers. I’ve never had a restaurant be so caring! My only regret was not getting their names! 😊 will definitely be going here again! If you work here and read this and remember us from that...
