Came here for the first time. Was passing by... The menu looks yummy. The prices are higher than average (even Panera). Gave it a chance anyway. Wanted to order a soup and 2 different sandwiches. Asking about the soup portion sizes. The counter guy shows me a tiny cup,I don't know...a little bigger than espresso cup. I ask him :"How much is that?" He says :"$7.50". Ask him:"Do you have a bigger portions?" -"Yeah...We have a container for 4-6 people". I'm under the impression, that it'd be a bucket,or a pot at least, right?4-6 people! No...He shows me a 32 oz container. 6 people...Yeah,good luck with that... I ask him how much that would be - he tells me :"$28!". Guys...Are you joking?! $28 for a 32 oz soup?!A "Whole Foods" hot 32 oz soup costs $10.99!!! WT...H?! I said :"No... Forget about the soup.Just 2 sandwiches". Mind you...Each sandwich is $14.95! Ok... Ready... Took it "to go"... I opened mine and my wife opened hers in the car. "Bulldog" and "Greyhound"... 2 different sandwiches, with 2 different breads... Both of the breads are stale!BOTH! Best case scenario - from the previous day. Or even older... And when "Bulldog" is tasty and "Greyhound" lacks any taste (or maybe it wasn't enough prosciutto inside),the dry bread ruins all the good in those recipes! Strange... I loooove tiny authentic places! Love their attention to the details! I'm from Brooklyn! We have a lot of those here! But "Pure Bread" was "Pure Disappointment",to say the least. Especially with your prices, guys. Either pull your things up,to the higher standards,or lower the prices,so people won't expect much...
Read moreA few weeks ago I had lunch at Purebread Deli with my sister. I ordered a "create your own sandwich". I was really looking forward to eating my sandwich. My sister had told me how delicious these sandwiches were. However, when I took my first bite, I felt something in my mouth that didn't seem right. I took it out and it looked like paper. I thought, that couldn't be. So I took another bite. And again, the same thing. I opened the sandwich and there was a sheet of paper in my sandwich that they use to separate the lunch meat or the cheese! I took the sandwich back up to the counter and asked for the manager. She didn't really seem to care. She opened the sandwich, saw the paper and tossed it in the garbage! She said, "Sorry! I'll give you a refund." (Athough, I don't think she was sorry!) What I am most concerned about, is that she didn't offer to make me a new sandwich. She didn't ask if I would like something else. She seemed very unconcerned about the situation. She just refunded the money and went about her business. To me that is poor customer service! No offer to please me! I believe your management team needs some further training in customer service! And your kitchen staff needs to pay attention to what they are putting in a sandwich!! My sister said that her sandwich was good, but unfortunately, I can't say the same about mine!! Not coming back!...
Read moreI used to eat at here ALL the time. This place is a shadow of its former glory. When I first walked in, I heard another customer asking the girl at the register 'How old is the coffee?' she said 'I don't know'. He said 'Ok well its cold, can you help?' Now I hope it's pretty obvious what should have been done here.... Brew the poor guy a hot cup of coffee. Nope, she asked the manager, and offered to warm this old ass coffee up in the microwave for him.
My Jack Russel, was 1/3 of a sandwich - not a half. The bread was burnt, the chicken had discolored nasty hard pieces to it. The lobster bisque was not right at all. Can't put my finger on it, but it tasted super chemically. Maybe it was old and had been overheated for hours in the warmer. For over 20$ for two half sandwiches and 2 half soup portions, the food should at LEAST be edible.
Edit* The pike creek, and Greenville locations are still on point, and...
