Aloha Cones is THEE place to get poke in Denver. They get their fish flown in regularly and its quality and freshness is comparable to the upscale sushi restaurants in town. They are family owned and have another location in Hawaii! They know their fish.
Aside from their food, the location is right near downtown but they actually have free parking which is a huge plus.
But the main reason I wanted to write this review is because the owner of Aloha Cones is the sweetest human being and such a highly talented chef! He knows what pairs correctly with the different types of fish and he is always cooking up something delicious for his team! He is so generous and always gives me a sample… honestly wish he would start selling his personal dishes or even open up his own Thai/Lao restaurant here in Denver.🙏🏼 He is amazingly gifted, so generous, and deserves all the business!!
Fun addition, he also preps an entire tuna and salmon during the day and allows his customers to watch!...

I asked if he sold beer, and he responded, “no I can’t sell you one but I’ll give you one.” I just laughed and declined, feeling like a bit of a dummy and dreading the continuation of my sobriety on a Friday afternoon. But then when he brought my food, he brought with it a free corona complete with a lime. I tried politely to refuse to which he responded, “I’m from Hawaii bro, it’s about aloha”. What a G. I wanna be about...
Read moreI've been trying poke places here and there since college, where I used to frequent an amazing place that has since gone out of business. This is the first place in the last 5 years that has reminded me how good poke can be. Absolutely incredible fresh fish, flown in from Hawaii. The guys here are super friendly and one showed me the fish that had just been caught which would be here in a couple of days.
This is my new go-to spot when I'm in Denver. It's definitely not the cheapest meal you can get, but I now have no reason to try any other poke place. Get ready to leave feeling full and refreshed. Freshest fish I've had in probably 10 years, or maybe ever. Can't wait...
