NEVER AGAIN. I booked a lash lift & tint for 11:30, and a blowout for 12:30; even called to confirm order and timing to help out the staff and ensure I was booking correctly and timely. My assigned hair stylist showed up late to the salon. She came to get me and just told me to “put your stuff down and I’ll wash your hair”; she didn’t great me, and did not say a single word to me during the wash; she didn’t ask what I’m getting done, what I want, if I’d ever been there before, nothing. She then sat me down to dry; I said, I booked lashes today too, is it ok to have my hair done and then lay on it for at least 30min? She said “oh. I’ll just finish your hair later then.” (I’m thinking, I booked lashes first for this reason, do they not know why I’m here and what I’m here for? They should know this.) Got my lashes done, that went fine, came back and I was expecting her to at least ask how I want it styled, where I usually part my hair, or something to get to know myself or my hair?? Nope; I had to interrupt her drying to say, “I have a picture of how I want it styled, can you look?” She said “oh” I said “I’m aware a blowout is a wash, dry, and style, am I wrong?” She told me it’s usually just a wash and dry only, no style. (What?? Maybe I am wrong, but why would I pay over $100 when I can wash, dry, and NOT STYLE my hair at home for FREE?? She said, “it’s ok, I can curl fast”; She rushed styling my hair, put little to no effort in, used no product to hold, still never asked where I even part my hair, all while she constantly looked at the front and yelled for other staff to start her next client for her. “She said they’re here and I have to finish curling her hair.” She was looking backwards and in the mirror at the front desk more than she was paying attention to what she was doing with my hair. This was extremely rude, unprofessional, and made me feel like I wasnt a client worth her time or effort (again, I booked this knowing it was at least an hour time slot, as I was told; I was not going over time, and I wasn’t asking for anything that would take long?) I said to her, “am I cutting into your next apt.?” And she said “it’s fine, I’m curling fast”. She put no effort into me, she used no product, and rushed me out the door. I haven’t felt worse leaving a hair salon in my life, esp with how much I paid for this? If I would have known this was the case, I would never have wasted my time and money coming here. I wouldn’t recommend this salon to anyone in the area, and esp not this stylist. (Stylist: Shae). Absolutely horrible experience, I came home and I’m now styling my own hair myself. I want my money back for...
Read moreI wanted so badly to enjoy my experience at The Glam House. The atmosphere was lovely, and a lot of the women working there were very kind.
However, the stylist who cut my hair was extremely unprofessional. After I showed her multiple inspiration pictures, she gave me a completely different haircut -- one that I never consented to, one that I didn't want, and one that was extremely unflattering and just not my style. I've grown out a buzzcut, so I thought I couldn't be phased by an awkward haircut -- I was wrong.
Between the complete disregard of my preferences and her complaining to me about another client of hers, sharing her political beliefs, and telling me multiple times that she "didn't know what she was doing" and was just "going for it," -- I left feeling extremely uncomfortable and disrespected. In fact, after my appointment, I went to CVS, got a pair of hair scissors, and fixed the haircut to a point where I was comfortable with it.
If your client leaves wishing that she had just shaved her head again instead of going to you for a haircut, maybe it's time to for some self-reflection.
(Not to mention -- when the manager followed up with me about the note I left when I canceled my follow-up appointment, she said she would reach out about scheduling an appointment to make it up to me. After a full week, she still has not reached out. At this point, i just want my...
Read moreCaptial Hill location: I’m obsessed with this place, I literally refuse to let anyone else touch my hair. I had some past trauma and had gone nearly a decade without a professional touching my hair. Rainie gave me my first professional haircut in 8 years and made me feel so comfortable and welcomed and explained everything so well. After such a great experience and watching the other stylists I decided to dye my hair and Isa was PHENOMENAL and managed to get my hair exactly how I wanted even though I didn’t do the best at describing what was in my head! I’ve gone back to both Isa and Rainie since then for root touchups and more hair cuts and I’ve never had anything less than an amazing experience. The treatments they offer also always leave my hair feeling brand new! The people at this salon really care about their clients and what they want but are also so great at taking the condition, status and health of your hair into account as well. I cannot recommend this place highly enough!! Its so welcoming and relaxing and I know that the outcome matters as much to them as it does to me! It is a little on the pricey side but for the services, care, and customer service provided it’s absolutely worth it, I wouldn’t trust anyone else to...
