This is a stylish spot that has a sleek interior design. Loved the decor with the plants! Upon entering, the waiter went over a couple brief COVID protocols. We were seated near the open patio and during our experience, the waiter took our order (we were seated and not wearing the mask), dropped off the drink order, and then when they came back to drop off the appetizer, told us to put on our mask before dropping off the food. The waiter literally stood there with the food until we put our drinks down, went for the mask, and put it on. Honestly, it felt ridiculous, especially because they had just spoke to us and dropped off our drinks while we were seated without the mask. It was clear to us that the waiter got annoyed that we didn’t have the mask up and decided to take the opportunity to “enforce” their protocol. Very inconsistent and honestly, unacceptable. This was the first restaurant experience that I have been to that has been so strict about the guests wearing the mask when the server approaches the table. I would like to add that it was obvious that the server was irritated with us not wearing the mask while we were seated and they approached the table.I felt that they were not interested in serving us after that interaction. We got the check immediately and left. I understand that each establishment reserves the right to do what they deem necessary for covid protocol. In this particular environment , we did not appreciate the mask police. What this establishment is telling its patrons is that you have to be on the lookout for anyone that approaches your table and be ready to cover up... even if you are taking a sip, chewing, or speaking with your party. That is unreasonable. If you are a restaurant goer and you don’t mind putting up the mask every other second a waiter approaches you, then this is the spot for you. When another waiter asked us how were were doing, I wasn’t sure if I answer or if I should rush to cover my face to answer the waiter. The whole experience is confusing and not worth the trip to this establishment. I wanted to love this place but the customer experience fell...
Read moreIt was an interesting experience. I'm eating only based on service which, unfortunately, was sub par. I bet the drinks are bomb, but I'll never know because after almost 20 mins of sitting there, my gf and I had not received our drink order and then a server came up and asked us "Hey did you guys order a drink?!?!"
Well after that we left, because despite being sat right in front of the bar, I could tell that our drink was still not being made.
Additionally, on their website, they describe the atmosphere as "unpretentious." Now I liked the atmosphere: lots of plants, low lighting, hardwood accents, and Anderson .Paak's Malibu playing on the record player (oh yeah, real vinyl.) But does any of what I just described sound unpretentious to you?? I mean part of their seating area is literally a hardwood staircase with tables adorning it. How is that not "attempting to impress by affecting greater importance, talent and culture than is actually possessed"?
You want to know what unpretentious actually looks like? Check out Horseshoe Lounge in uptown. Amazing atmosphere - a truly unpretentious venue.
Lady Jane: I wanted to like you. I tried. But the lack of service, wildly expensive menu and inability to accurately describe yourself on your own website mean I probably won't...
Read moreOver priced and overrated. My cocktail was a coffee passionfruit cardamom mix that was not good. I tried to drink it and sipped on it for an hour but could not finish it. I passed it to 8 other people at the table but no one liked it or wanted it so I couldnt even give it away. When it came time to pay we had a group of 8 people and we all had been drinking some of us bought food, some bought 4 drinks and others only had 1 drink. They would not let us pay by item. There was a 20% auto gratuity added and when my friend walked to the bar to ask if we could pay individually they said yes to come pay at the bar and then said no the server would come to our table. The server then came and told us we needed to write down the card number and ammount for each card which caused more confusion. The frustrating part was that they clearly had the ability to go around the table and let us pay for what we ordered or let us pay at the bar the server just did not want to do that. It would also have been very helpful if they told us this before hand. We all left pretty unsatisfied with the service. There are so many great bars in Denver I would give this a...
