Happy hour is so locked on with $5 pitchers of IPA. Prosciutto sandwich is so good. Any of the board are fantastic-had the pretzel one today. Dog friendly and they give treats. Bartender is a dead ringer for Aaron Rodgers or Toby McGuire and he was awesome. Love this place.
07/01/2022: Just went to happy hour yesterday (and been there a BUNCH more times since original post) and enjoyed all of the same specials, great table service from the server, Monica, and enjoyed Nick's Board again. They changed this board recently, and it is SOOOO good. More pretzel, added a lot of Pimento, mustard, chorizo, and sausage, and it is delicious.
Just a refresh review as we love this place so much. Nick's board has pimento to die for, Elijah is our new favorite bartender on the weekends that makes your day awesome, we joined the wine club which you should too, and the shakshouka is my go-to for brunch still. HH IPA pitchers should get five stars by itself, but the rest of the package is incredible too. Just go, people. Now.
Went there again. More to say. I love this place so much. Need to update. Another fantastic experience. We had to sit outside because we brought the doggies. Monica was our server and she was incredible. We had the bruschetta. The Salmon is the best, proscuitto is second, the hummus one was new and next level, and the skewers are awesome, even if you think that dipping them in yogurt is odd. We ordered the chicken noodle soup and got the beer cheese, and what a great mistake. I didn't get the Shakshuka this time, but know that is my go-to, along with Nick's Board. Get bread if you order the Shakshuka (it is free). What a great vibe, but know that the downtown location is NOT the same vibe. Go to this location. Whatever training program they have here is...working. You won't regret the pitcher of IPA's on all day HH ruining your day.
LAST VISIT: I am becoming a broken record. I don't care. This place rocks. Monica rocks. Cybil rocks. If you drink IPA and want a $6 pitcher, this place rocks. I am the biggest fan. I think that when my wife doesn't know where to go, I just say we are going here and start my 4Runner. Try the parallel street if you can't find parking, and walk through the alley. But, don't NOT be persuaded to go by not finding immediate parking. That was a lot of negatives meant to be a positive. You have to sometimes fight for the good things. Go see the random sign at the bottom of the hill with a random uplifting message at the small house, and go to Little Man for Ice Cream after. Bring your dog to a dog friendly patio, and take them to the park across the street after you have their awesome food (I recommend the Shakshouka for brunch and the Proscuitto/Brie for lunch). You also can't go wrong with the bruschetta either. I think our favorite is the salmon and pesto, and proscuitto and brie. Anyway, that is all until we visit them in another week or two. GO THERE. One note. I didn't get the same feeling from their downtown location. This location is different. Definitely recommend (again) and see you...
Read moreUpdate: Thank you so much to Tasia for reaching out personally and correcting our experience. You made us feel so taken care of and I can tell you truly take pride in what you do! Ben, our server, was fantastic and we had beyond the experience we expect from this location. Thank you so much!!
My husband have been loyal Postino’s customers for years. Particularly, at the Lohi Denver location which we have always loved. For Christmas, my husband got me a membership to the wine cult. On 2/1/25, we went in to use it for the first time and had a very uncharacteristically poor experience.
We checked in at 1:41 pm and were asked if we thought we would be done by 4 since they had a reservation scheduled. We thought that was plenty of time since we arrived with our baby in tow and were sat. We planned to only stay an hour and have two glasses each. It took us until 3:30 to be served two glasses and saw our server very infrequently. We were also sat at a very small table where is was hard to maneuver our stroller and baby. When we were finally checked on, we asked if we could please have our two release bottles that we receive with the wine cult and grab our check, and our server told us she would need to check and see if those two bottles were still eligible and that they likely expired. It took her 15 minutes to come back to our table and she simply asked “if we were doing okay” and had forgotten to ask about the bottles. She then said she would grab them and our check. She informed us that we could use only one of our free glasses today even though I had two in my app. Two hours is a long time for a baby to hold on for table service, so as we waited for our check and bottles, we were needing time walk around and soothe her so as not to disturb other customers. Finally, after waiting an additional 15 minutes for our server to return, I went up to the bar to ask for our tab and our bottles. I did appreciate that the bartender was very apologetic and took care of us right away (hence, two stars as opposed to one). Service has been pretty inattentive today and explanations around the wine cult have been confusing. We usually have amazing experiences at Postino’s locations, Lohi in particular, so wanted to make this feedback known. I’m not sure if the cafe was understaffed or if we simply didn’t look like customers worthy of being served, but this was a very frustrating experience, especially since we recently paid and signed up to be a part of a loyalty program. Thank you for your consideration and attention...
Read moreAs a local and a regular patron of Postino in LoHi in Denver, I consider this place a second home since moving here last year. It's become my go-to work-from-bar spot, thanks to the fast and reliable Wi-Fi. The special deal of $6 glasses of wine and pitchers of beer until 5 PM is a delightful bonus, making the work hours fly by. There’s a sense of community among the regulars, which, along with the friendly staff, adds to the warm atmosphere of the place which you can't really find elsewhere in LoHi.
The staff, from Liza at the door, Chad at the bar, to Tim on the floor (among others) are exceptional. They seem to make it a point to remember folks names and even their usual orders, which speaks volumes about their service and attention to detail. With the weather getting nicer, the balcony has become a favorite spot to relax and enjoy the view, offering a variety of seating options from tables and benches to couches. I’ve even noticed a trend of folks, including myself, bringing their dogs to the patio, likely encouraged by the thoughtful touch of a free dog biscuit jar at the front desk.
Postino in LoHi has a subtle quirkiness that you grow to appreciate more with each visit. The occasional themed shirts of the staff and their chemistry, especially on bustling evenings like board and bottle nights and sunny Saturdays, contribute to a cohesive and enjoyable environment.
I do have a couple of suggestions intended only to enhance the experience further. A larger serving of the spicy almonds, which I frequently order off-menu, would be a great addition to a bar snack menu. Actually, a variety of snacks would surely be appreciated and complement the beverages perfectly for those of us working away on our laptops and enjoying a drink. Additionally, live jazz nights, even if just bi-weekly or monthly, would elevate the ambiance further. I attended one in the Winter of last year and I'm hoping it wasn't a one-off. The combination of Postino's quality food, ambiance, and live jazz would create an unmatched experience in the area.
To wrap this review, Postino in LoHi is more than just a dining spot; it's a community hub where the staff and ambiance make every visit memorable. Whether you're a local or just passing through, it’s a must-visit for an experience that's both heartwarming...
