Maggie & Molly's Bakery — Restaurant in Denver

I called on Monday at about 11am to request a dozen cupcakes for a gender reveal party, scheduled for Monday night. I knew well in advance that the fancy cupcakes with the pink/blue filling would be out of my reach due to the last minute planning.

Instead, I requested an assortment of cupcakes with blue sprinkles and/or blue fondant cutouts on top. They were happy to accommodate my request and I was able to pick up the cupcakes at 5:30pm that same day.

As for the flavor: I found their buttercream tasted too much like unflavored butter. It wasn't very sweet, and it wasn't flavored strongly enough to detect anything other than butter (with the exception of the mint and chocolate frosting. All the vanilla just tasted like butter).

The cakes were moist, tasted good, and were sweetly decorated. They even had a half chocolate, half vanilla cake with a salted caramel frosting that was pretty good.

Pros: Excellent service. Nice packing of the cupcakes. Cute presentation. Good cake. Cons: Drab (but not BAD)...

I'm extremely disappointed with my experience. I ordered a custom cake that came decorated incorrectly and was so dense and dry it was barely edible. We didn't even finish it because it just wasn't good. What makes this worse is that I reached out to the bakery multiple times (three messages plus two unanswered phone calls) and never received a single response. I spent close to $80 on this cake (including the delivery), so I expected far better quality and at least a basic level of customer service. We've used this bakery in the past, but after this experience - and their complete lack of accountability - we won't be returning. We’ve visited many bakeries, but none compare to Maggie & Molly’s - Mary and her incredible staff are THE BEST!! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm smiles and delicious aromas.

We’ve trusted them for all of our special occasions—weddings, birthdays, holidays, you name it—and they’ve never disappointed! Or steered away from our not so common flavor requests (in a quick turnaround time might I add!). Every item we’ve tried has been AMAZING! You can tell that everything is made thoughtfully and with love.
