Wapos Cantina — Restaurant in Denver

This is the Mexican restaurant our neighborhood has been missing! Straight-forward, delicious, and well-priced. Complementary chips came with a nicely-spiced, traditional, restaurant-style salsa. I got the combo with an excellent chili-smothered carnitas burrito, a solid refried bean tostada, and a savory egg roll-style relleno. My husband had a smothered burrito with shredded beef. Both the shredded beef and carnitas fillings were nicely seasoned and flavorful. Service was quick and friendly. We left full and happy for less than $45, practically unheard of in Denver today. My boyfriend and I loved the previous spot here so we were sad to see it go. But Wapos is an amazing addition to Capitol Hill. The service was incredible so friendly, quick, and attentive really felt like a neighborhood resturant. The food was great and happy hour had very affordable drink specials. Mole carnitas were fantastic! Fajitas were so delicious and the portion was enough for 2. I got the combo fajitas including steak, chicken, and shrimp. All cooked to perfection and seasoned well.
