We had the worst experience at this place. We went on a saturday afternoon at 5:30 before heading to a Rockies game. You would think that they would have their best and brightest employees there to help take care of the many rockies fans looking for a bite to eat... Not even close. We were treated poorly from the second we walked in the door. They started out by explaining that they were closing soon and continued to use that as an excuse for horrible customer service. They couldn't toast our sandwiches because of it, they couldn't serve soup because of it, they made us feel extremely unwelcome so that we would leave. We decided to sit at their tables outside so that they could close up shop. They immediately followed us outside and removed the umbrellas from outside while it was raining and left us to eat in the rain. They did all this using the excuse that they were cleaning to close, however, the three adolescent employees completely lacking in ambition and common courtesy simply sat immobile inside playing on their phones. It was sincerely disappointing because honestly, were the sandwiches toasted, they probably would have been pretty good. Why they couldn't leave the umbrella until we were done, toast the sandwich, warm up the soup or treat customers with respect is absolutely beyond me but one thing I do know is that I will never be returning to this establishment and I will advise everyone I know to do the same. I hope they either train their current employees or hire new ones and perhaps I would consider revisiting. Until...
Read moreLet's get real. For my first visit here, it wasn't the food that I hated. The food was good and what you'd expect from a deli, even Jimmy John's. What I hated was the ridiculously slow service. Went on a Tuesday during lunch time. Of course the line is long, all the way back to where the wall begins to start it. The person who recommended the place said "don't worry! it looks long but the line moves fast!" One cashier during the middle of the lunch rush, and just under 30 minutes later, we placed our orders. I can cut some slack for the ordering part of the experience, because there was only one cashier. However, I cannot justify waiting 35 minutes for what appeared to be a fully staffed (and VERY SLOW MOVING) kitchen to make a bunch of sandwiches and salads. Although I ordered after my friend, my sandwich came out before her standard Cobb salad. How is that possible - for the sandwich to come out first, but also for a Cobb salad to take that LONG to make?
You know how Jimmy John's is freaky fast? If you want the same quality sandwich, but freaky slow, then go to Backcountry Deli. All I know is I'm never coming back as I don't want to waste an hour waiting for food at a place that should be much,...
Read moreFood is good, but the value just isn't there. Consistently, I find the sandwiches pretty lacking for the price; at a few dollars cheaper, it would be a decent value, but when you get more sandwich with similar ingredients and taste for 2/3 the price at potbelly, it's just not compelling.
Edit to respond to response: Ok, I could email you, but what would I say? Your menu is too expensive across the board for the size of the sandwiches? And then what are you going to say to that? Here's a lifetime of coupons, we really value your business? There's nothing to resolve, I think the value isn't there, and it's your business to run as you wish, I can respect that.
The crux of this is that it wasn't a one time thing, it's every time I go there. I thought the breakfast sandwich was a joke at first, it was so small. So, it's not as if this is a one time thing, so it's not a problem with...
