My wife and I haven't ventured out much in the past year due mostly to our toddler as it hard to have a romantic evening that is based around chasing a two year old no matter how cute she is. So when we do have a chance to spend time the two of us the time is especially valuable. We had the opportunity to check out The Wild which was a new spot for us. The staff were fantastic and they did a great job walking us through the menu and making suggestions of a few craft cocktails that might line up with our preferences. I started out with the Crown and my lovely date chose the Culinaria. Both were superb. I especially enjoyed the nuttiness of the pistachio along with some of the almond in the orgeat. I managed to sneak a couple sips of the Culinaria which my wife seemed to be guarding with her life. She loves ginger based cocktails and I can see why she was trying to keep the drink for herself. In addition to the drinks we tried a few of the items off the cheese and charcuterie. The items were presented well and the accompaniments were nice accents to the meat and cheese. On our way out we noticed they do coffee and pastries in the morning so we made a note to stop by sometime with the little one when we're in the neighborhood. Maybe the caffeine will help with the Toddler wrangling.
If you're nearby and looking for a great spot for some craft cocktails or a coffee I think you would be well taken care of...
Read moreIt was a bit abrupt when the waitress picked up my menu and I had to flag someone down to look at the food again as she grabbed this prior to my order. It was awkward because the music was too loud and a different waiter thought I asked for the check when I had wanted to order chocolate-covered almonds. And the parking machine, one of the waitresses (same one who abruptly picked up menu) did come out to assist with the machine but as she either didn't understand I too needed help or she simply wasn't prepared for the cold, ran back inside leaving me scrabbling to figure out how to work this machine and I had get help for using this machine for parking to pay and the outside door to the parking garage didnt work with mt parking ticket so i needed to go back into the restaurant and exit through there to the lobby. It would be helpful if there was a building manager on site to alleviate parking issues and door/tech issues as I don't think the restaurant should be responsible for this. I was there last night for a book club and while we asked for the music to be turned down it kept being turned up it seemed.
Great croissant and good wine selection snd overall...
Read moreWould leave a NO star review. Had my original review removed the day that I posted it. Me and my bf went to study as we usually do and wanted to wait before we ordered our usual, bread and butter with matcha. Once our waiter (balding guy with brown hair and glasses) found out we didn’t want to order right away he gave us attitude and said that it’s rude that we aren’t ordering yet we are using the Wi-Fi. He completely ruined the experience there, we felt so discriminated against and out of place. We kept feeling how uncomfortable it was as that waiter sent another short red head waiter to badger us into ordering something. Then, they would huddle around talk amongst themselves and look over at us. It literally felt like we were being bullied into spending money there, eventually we flagged down a nicer lady waiter to place our order (because we genuinely like snacking on the bread and butter and we were anticipating it). Needless to say we will never be going back which is so disappointing as we both loved to study there. Unless you want to be blasted back into high-school and feel the wrath of bullies who want your lunch money, I recommend you stay...
