Always amazing food, but they were not having a good day. After watching the two people in front of me cuss out the hostess, who was trying her best to clearly do 5 jobs at once, I really cannot say anything negative about my experience there today. I've eaten at this establishment many times, and their food is always fantastic. However on this occasion, they were out of my first choice; bread bowl clam chowder, and my second, the Monte Cristo. While I wasn't able to order what I'd liked, this had to have been an insane day for them. There were cars lining the street for a solid mile in both directions (for future readers, this was the second major heatwave day in the Willamette Valley and it seems everyone from Portland to Eugene had converged on Lincoln city and Depoe Bay), and they had clearly been eaten out of business by 5 pm when I arrived. However, despite the clearly insane day, and absue I'd just witnessed them take, I'd say the service was phenomenal. They were troopers, doing their best to keep things running smoothly. Food I ended up getting (clam chowder and Texas toast in lieu of bread bowl) was amazing, just like I'd remembered it. So while this would ordinarily have rated 2 or 3 stars for me, I think they are absolutely justified given short staffing, food shortages, swarms of humans and angry customers, in earning 5 stars. I'd recommend this place to anyone, even on a bad day. It's that good.

The clam chowder was better than Mo's, but it was later in the day than what I had at Mo's. It was creamy and not overly peppered. The potatoes were soft and though there weren't as many clams as Mo's they weren't as rubbery. The stuffed mushrooms had a great flavor with a nice cheese layer. I wish I hadn't ordered the sauteed seafood platter. The portions were anemic on the fish, their picture speaks to the sheer volume of sliced canned mushrooms in the dish. The butter was mostly just watery. I get most people think low animal fat is healthy, the fat carries flavor. The seasoning was okay. But the tiny bits of salmon, and halibut were a disappointment.there were two and half 40 count shrimp in there. I didn't get the fried seafood platter so I could avoid the light breading and over processed seed oils. The service was pleasant. The bathroom was clean. The parking was typical tourist town on the street. Find somewhere else to park if you've got a trailer or long vehicle. The area has several poke stops and two gyms nearby. There is a route that starts a little north of the sea hag that is a nice walk after you eat.

We came here while driving down the Oregon coast to try their famous chowder. I heard many recommendations and ppl hailing it the best on the coast. I love chowder and made a point to try as many chowders as I could during our 5 days down the coast, and immediately deemed it out of the running for best chowder, in fact it wasn’t anywhere near the best or in my top 5. I was quite disappointed actually. I’m not saying it was bad, but it definitely wasn’t anywhere near as good as people were saying it was. On top of it not being the best, their portions were also the smallest, and the presentation in the bread bowl was awful and made it look less appetizing. The outside of the bread was drenched in chowder as a failed attempt to make it look like the soup was overflowing when clearly they just dunked the bread bowl in the chowder and it came out as a sloppy mess. They also didn’t serve the top or inside of the bread bowl on the side which is another disappointment. The flavour was good but lacked any umph or substance in their small portions. As small as I thought the bread bowl was, the cup of chowder was ridiculously tiny, couldn’t have been more than 3 or 4 spoonfuls in what looked like the size have an espresso cup. We also wanted to get some steamers but unfortunately they weren’t available so we went with the combo Louis (a salad with pink shrimp and crab meat), it wasn’t very good and felt like a Denny’s meal. We went around 2 or 3pm and it was quite busy, had to wait roughly 45 minutes for a table for 2 after being put on the wait list. It wasn’t worth the wait. The server was friendly and good at her job but seeing how busy it was we didn’t see much of her and it took a while to get our order in. Would not come back.

Their cocktails were incredibly strong and their food was good. The oysters were big and delicious, their mozzarella sticks were breaded differently than I'm used to but that turned out to be a great thing since they were also very delicious, and their stuffed mushrooms were amazing, and the clam chowder and Texas toast garlic bread was really good as well. Unfortunately, I had to give it 3 stars for a few different reasons. The first is because we were there from 2:30 until 4:30 and all but about 30 minutes of that 2 hour time period was us waiting for our food. The second is they are incredibly expensive. A small plate of their seafood pasta was $30, which the sauce for the pasta was good, but I probably would pay a max of $20 for it, but not $30. The third was the lack of good quality of some of our items. Their Crab Cake sandwich was soggy and every bite my friend took contained crab shell pieces, one was actually fairly large, so that meal was over very quickly. Their hot chocolate was $9, which I didn't know because it wasn't on their menu, we just saw a picture of it online and it looked good, which it was, but it tasted exactly like the packs of hot chocolate powder you buy from the grocery store, just with whip cream added to it. The staff seemed fairly nice and the experience was nice but I don't know if I would want to eat here again. If I did, I would stick to the appetizers, clam chowder and drinks. Maybe also a little dessert, but I wouldn't order any of the entrées again.

We stopped merely to taste the hype of the chowder AND we have a soft spot for the name Gracie...and we were ever so pleased! We have been many places up and down the west coast trying chowders and finally we found one to justifiably sit on the top 5 list! Ours wasn't too salty, no flour flavor, not too runny and not too thick, nice selection of herbs and flavor, and the clams were fresh and not sandy..4.8 in my book! I will return for the chowder, but also for the eggs benedict! Not because they have the best sauce.. because of the muffin underneath! So fluffy and perfect! Let's not forget the shrimp salad and the fun, artistic, creative presentation and also the corn beef and hash were just fantastic! Seriously can't wait to return. Service was good. Vibe was very old school..but fitting for the area.. keeps with the theme and history of the town. I could see how their food would struggle with quality if ordering certain items to-go, it's fresh and probably best off a plate from the kitchen.

Cute little food place right on the main shop strip of stores in Depoe bay! Beautiful views right out the windows to the bay where you may see whales or orcas! Its a quaint little place that takes you back in time with wood panneling, stained glass booth divders, and big spacious booths big enough for the whole family! The blown glass light covers are equally adorable and cute. Even though it feels like you've gone back in time its very clean and fresh smelling when we walked in. The staff was kind and caring; and very attentive! We were able to sit back relax and split this massive breakfast meal of eggs and bacon! 2 eggs, 4 slices of bacon, toast, and hashbrowns with coffee before going whale watching today! Only complaint was ordering over medium eggs and getting runny egg white; Really a phenomenal way to start the day and we are glad we decided to come in to kill some time!! Will definitely recommend to anyone asking for good food places on the oregon coast!
