Beignets & Brew — Restaurant in Destin

Beignets & Brew is a new eatery for Destin. And with a name like that, they sure had better make some mighty fine beignets and coffee. Spoiler alert. THEY DO!

I'm a frequent gnasher at Cafe du Monde. Nothing quite like those French Quarter beignets and chicory coffee. That is, until this place popped up!

The beignets are light, sweet, sofr, warm ... and smothered in powdered sugar. You can chose from several dipping sauces ... but why? They're perfect just as they are! The coffee is delicious, literally to the last drop. I'm a black coffee guy -- a purist, you might say -- but a plain coffee is the best test for what lies beneath all the foo foo flavors. This is great coffee, so you canvtrust their lattes, cappucinos, and all the others ... with a three thumbs up from my business partner for their Nutella Latte!

And the prices are super-reasonable. Not at all what I would have expected to pay along the Harborwalk of Destin.

I hate to leave a two star review because the food and service was great! The problem was that we were looking for a place to have drinks beforehand and didn't realize that Beignets and Brew served drinks! Had we known this, we would've loved to stop in and order a few drinks there while we had our beignets! We looked on the website and nowhere did it even advertise alcohol in any way! It is not on the company site and was not on the Auburn website either! How do you have a franchise that advertises being a mimosa bar on your store front, yet you don't have it listed on your website!?!?! I'm sorry, but probably not the smartest marketing strategy as a franchise owner if you intend on selling alcohol! Loved the beignets, but I'd probably at least advertise what drinks you sell and possibly some pictures if you're going to be a "Mimosa Bar!"...

VISITED MONDAY, June 5, 2023 My husband found this place on GM. Visited first thing in the morning shortly after opening. They open at 7AM. The two young ladies greeted me and were quite friendly. It’s a newly built trailer that’s most likely the right size for what they are selling New Orleans famous Beignets! Right along a pier. Do you have a great view as you wait. I’ve been to Cafe DuMonde in NO and they were just as FAB-TASTIC! I ordered 3 orders of 4 regular size beignets and a regular coffee. Also, great! Beignets we’re light, airy with a bit of crunch coated with powdered sugar. Took them back to our hotel right away to share with hubby and teen daughter a short drive away.
