Bohemia at The Detroit Club — Restaurant in Detroit

My friend's and I had reservations at Bohemia on Friday, February 10 at 7:30pm. This was our very first visiting the The Detroit Club and we were very dissatisfied with the service that we received. There was another event taking place in another room of your establishment and there was not enough wait staff in the main dinning room. Our reservations were at 7:30pm we did not receive our ordered beverages until 8:20pm. I soon realize that our server was wearing many hats. He was the hostess, he was serving the entire dinning room, he was behind the bar, and tending to the party guests. That was unacceptable. I will say he was did the best he could without additional assistance and our experience could have been a whole lot better. 2 of my guests including my self got extremely sick on their ride home from what was consumed during our dining experience. We went back here for the first time since 2021. For some reason I didn’t think it was called Bohemia then but the waitress said it was. The food was good but there were some issues. They asked if we wanted anchovies in the Caesar salad and we said yes. Then they didn’t put any in it. They brought us some though. The meatball appetizer was really good. The shrimp ceviche had really good flavor but not enough chips. They also charged us for the extra six chips they brought us. The burger was really good. Well seasoned. I’d get that again. The ribeye was cooked correctly and had very good flavor. The problem was it did not come out hot. The compound butter they serve it with did not melt over it. They gave us an extra drink on the house because of it. The espresso martini was average along with the old fashioned. Nothing special for the price. A group of 10 of us came here for my birthday. This was a Saturday night, and we had a 7:30 reservation. The initial round of drinks came out promptly as did the appetizers. We placed our dinner order when the apps came out.

Then the service slowed way down. We finished our drinks and appetizers and then waited for anyone to come check on us. I had to ask a busser to go find our server to get another round of drinks before the main course arrived.

We finished those drinks before dinner finally got to us.

The manager was clearly unhappy that I was commenting on how long everything was taking and our vegetarian friend had his "entrée" beet salad come out and it was barely a couple bites of food. The server was aware he was vegetarian when he took the order and should have told him it was such a small portion.
