4 stars for the size and look of the rooftop. Nice scenery. Everything else can go in the trash can. The food is trash and was served cold. I went to try their brunch menu, and everything was small plates and overpriced. Shrimp and grits were basic, the potatoes were dry, and the chicken and waffles were disappointing. So the food is overpriced, but you serve me on paper plates and plastic silverware?! The disrespect. Another place that will be grand opening grand closing. These restaurants just start off losing. They don't care about anything besides a grass wall and a bar. Spacious rooftop for music and cocktails if you are a drinker. I watched a party there and the bottle service looked cheap and the bubble machine looked kiddie lol. Again, I watched a birthday group who was sitting in the lounge areas and the bottle service was Titos and had a cheap looking light attached to it. The waitresses had on workout attire, but I guess they were suppose to look classy. It was just a mess, hands down. The place needs a better sound system, and the DJ's music was too loud folks couldn't hear themselves talk. It was 3:30pm. I guess every place wants to be under 18 and / or club. Where do the 40+ crowd go, because this definitely was a disappointment. I am a food snob, world traveler, and events planner. So this place is okay if you don't know any better, however for the ones that do, please do better. But the bar is so low now that you all will probably get a pass. I spent over $100. Tip is already included, which is annoying, and the server did the bare minimum.
It was a guy (said he was hired by the venue) up there taking pictures. He is an entrepreneur and takes pics of folks while they are there in hopes of getting you to purchase the photos. So I just bought all of em for $40 to support him. I had good company, so it was cool but wasn't worth the $100+...
Read moreThe event was temporarily postponed and DETROIT VIP did not deliver the advertised experience. I paid for a roof top table. The hotel atmosphere and roof is beautiful, cozy and welcoming. We ordered drinks and food. It started raining then all hell broke loose. The drinks was not even as full as a shot glass with no ice. The waitress couldn’t even tell the difference between chickens wings and whole chicken. We specifically told the waitress that orders were separate. She still placed our orders in one bag when the orders should have been separate. A $60 order was $74-$80. This event took people's money with no contingent plan for rain. We were told to go inside to the lobby. A security guard told us the lobby was full. We were told to go downstairs. No where to eat the food we as a group ordered. An extremely ignorant and rude black female with blonde hair was speaking to people like they were kids. And after she speaks to you in a rude manner she wants to call security like that’s supposed to scare us or allow her to continue to speak to us recklessly but she should watch her tone and how she talk to people! This is how altercations start. Not the slightest bit of organization, highly unprofessional. Because my sisters couldn't be offered a place to eat their food they didn't want the food if they had to walk around eating it with their fingers like a dog. The menu had prices on it but the bill changed all the prices higher than what's listed. I think that's false advertising. Basically illegal. They charged for ice in drinks. My sisters payed for 2 drinks only. They refuse to pay to be treated like trash in any establishment on this earth. It was the most horrible experience l've had at any hotel in my life. They should NOT be allowed to have events at the Cambria...
Read moreSo I came here for my birthday. I had about 20 guests. My guest sat @ different tables. They move my items from the tables that my guests were sitting at or going to sit at. So I asked for the manager don’t know her name but she has blonde hair she was very rude once me and my guest were settled in our seats. They proceeds to send the same waitress over to my table with security, asked me to move again because the table that we were sitting at was reserved, but they were no reserve signs. Then the manager charge one of guest before 8 o’clock when on the website it’s says it was free before 10 cause I was over a 8 guests capacity sitting at a regular table. The manager was very rude and unprofessional. The waitress did eventually apologize, which I appreciated thanks and The security guy was cool. He got me a free shot. But Never again!! It’s sad how some African-American females get a little title and it goes to their head, being polite and kind will take you much further in life than being rude and not accommodating. I tried my best to be polite, evening through my frustration cause at the end of the day, I cannot allow a person to take my joy on my day of celebration of life. And I truly understand how hard it is to be a manager working with people with multiple personalities, Im also in upper management you’re not only representing yourself as a human being, but you’re representing the company that you work for. After going down the timeline and reading the reviews it’s amazing how you guys only reply to the five star and it’s so many reviews regarding the manager. 3 1/2 stars reviews for a five star hotel dealing with customer service it should be...
