Motor City Kitchen — Restaurant in Detroit

I was highly disappointed with the service and atmosphere of this restaurant. I came here late during dinner to get some food, and it took 20-25 minutes for our server to acknowledge us at the bar. I consider ourselves lucky as there were people who had to wait even longer than us to be acknowledged. After another 20-25 minutes of waiting for the food, we finally received it. The food was average at best, and the bar area was filled with fruit flies. The flies would constantly land on our food and the glasses that we drank from, in which eventually we couldn't even eat our food anymore. The server and the other staff were arguing in front of people and after I asked for the check I received no check after waiting for another 15 to 20 minutes to which I was fed up. It took me walking out to get any quick attention from the server who seemed to be very agitated after explaining the poor service and atmosphere. Hopefully management can change some things because I have NEVER had an experience this bad eating anywhere. Would not recommend...

I stayed in the Doubletree hotel and there wasn't really another breakfast option close by. The actual restaurant was closed for some reason, with a sign noting that you could order the same menu to-go from the MCK counter, so I did. As with everyone else I interacted with in the hotel, the service was curt and not very friendly. It took a while for the dish to be made, which I then took up to my room to eat. The steak was poor quality but at least wasn't overcooked. Eggs were rubbery and didn't seem fresh. Potatoes were completely inedible and tasted terrible. It ended up being a small morning snack that was better than nothing, and had this not been a company travel expense I would have been upset wasting my own money on it. I ate dinner here over the week and dinner was good. I ordered a burger and house made chips. Went I received my bill it was over $60 I need it was incorrect so I asked for a manager. The manager came out and was extremely rude. I asked if there was anyone else I could talk to and he explained that nothing else could be done that he was the highest level of management that I could speak to. Then he said your complaint is petty and that his dinner was getting cold so that I could either wait until he was finish or leave.
