For background hubs is a chef and I’m a very spoiled foodie. We work hard for our money and there’s nothing worse than spending money on food that is thrown together or that we can make better ourselves. We were left absolutely in awe over Torchy’s. In fact I think we’re ruined for tacos. We got 6 different ones and the street corn. We spent the day at one of the local parks and just couldn’t do the gimmicky options there. From the street it just looks like another chain restaurant but after peeking the menu we decided to try it. The ambiance is really warm and laid back but not in a cheesy way. The Hogfather was probably the best bite of any food I’ve had in a long time. The carnitas were packed with flavor and moist, same with the beef. Shrimp was also amazing. From corn to flour, both tortillas were incredibly done. We will definitely be back, probably tomorrow to try out the breakfast tacos. We’ve been to Arron Sanchez’s restaurant, hole in the wall authentic Taquerias, and everything in between and guys honestly, this was such a memorable experience, keep up the amazing work, all of the small details are noticed and appreciated. This is a gem and hopefully you guys make it closer to New...
Read moreWell tried Torchys Tacos on Daryl Carter Parkway. On June 1st at 2:53pm and it was not busy at all. Decided to try the Grande burrito beef fajita and bring it home. It took 20 minutes from order to pick up. The burrito had 4 pieces of steak on it, that was it! No special flavors, the cheese was not melted as the burrito was cold, the sour cream was still cold when I got home. I had to microwave to eat it. It had a tiny bit of rice on one end and no guacamole, which it says it comes on the burrito. The salsa’s were good and flavorful. I paid $11.25. Not sure I would go back, but glad I tried it out. Be aware you pay extra for protein $3.50 and you get very little. No special flavors, nothing to differentiate from any other taco place. Was not impressed with the cashier either he did nothing to make my experience special, since it was my first time, he missed talking about the tacos or making suggestions. But had no problem putting the tip jar in from of everyone. If you go above and beyond tips happen, if all you do is punch in an order , why do you need a...
Read moreWe’ve been itching to try this place out since we saw construction start. Taking into account that it was taco Tuesday at happy hour and then the dinner rush, it was not nearly as loud as some places. Granted, my hearing is not the best to begin with, but boy was it hard to hear in there for us both. The bartenders were kind enough to keep facing me so that I could read their lips and get through. Our food did take a good long while to arrive, and then it was packaged as a Togo order, but that was a simple matter of additional unwrapping. Our bartender was also very vigilant when it came to our inability to eat spicy food. She helped guide us around the menu and offered suggestions to make our food and drinks entirely nonspicy. We were very happy with it all at the end, and our visit tonight confirmed that it was not a fluke, it was just how a business should be run. Aside from a few tiny glitches with the food coming out with wrong ingredients, everything was perfect once again. We will be bringing our friends and family along next time....
