I absolutely hate giving poor reviews. I really wanted to like this place as its close to home but it is anything but likeable. We took my elderly mom out for a nice dinner (or so we thought) last night and it was bad from the get go. Instead of saying hello or a friendly greeting, we were told, TOLD to put hand sanitizer. Which we had prior to approaching the fake hostess stand, yet they stood there and watched us having to apply their smelly sanitizer... The waitress seated us and was somewhat pleasant but made us feel like we were interrupting her for some reason. As soon as she brought us ONE MENU, she was back again asking if "you ready order". We said no, just a few more minutes... about 30sec later, shes back and standing there. Nothing said, just staring at us. I even asked if I could help her! Then she says, "you ready order now?". I once again told her, COME BACK IN A FEW MINUTES AS WE HAVENT HAD A CHANCE TO LOOK AT THE ONE MENU!!! A minute later, guess who's back... yup! The waitress. So, I hastily ordered 2 chicken teriyaki entrees for my elderly mom and I. Pork ordered sushi... The sushi arrived nice n quick and looked... well, it looked sloppy. It was quite good tho... The gal came back and gave me my soup and salad at once but nothing for mom... She walked away. I had to get up and chase her down... I asked her where my moms food was. She said "you only order one". Here we go... We fixed that right there... So, 5min later her her salty, nappy Miso soup came. Totally gross and way, way too salty for consumption. Tasted like water from the GSL except saltier and nappier... The salad was very good and we really liked the odd dressing! Lol, I could have eaten 3 bowls... Yes, it was tasty! So, as soon as she brought moms, my food arrives as im eating my salad. Nowhere to put the dinner... She actually places the plate in front of me, hovering above the soup and salad bowls expecting me to do something. So rude... She was absolutely horrid... Well, I told her just take the salad and soup so you can set the dinner down. I wasn't pleasant at this time. She was irritating... Terrible waitress... Oh, but it gets worse!!! I'm diabetic. So, I needed protein fairly soon... Moms food was still being prepared... I started eating without regard to food temp. I ate maybe 3 slices of the chicken before I realized it was raw... RAW!!! All this time, and I get served raw chicken that I accidentally woofed down... moms meal had arrived just before wooing down the chicken sushi... She had started and mind you, shes older and has very advanced dementia and can't tell the difference between Listerene and Chardonnay... she actually ate some of her raw chicken... She did say it was rubbery and tasted funny. Since I was eating mine, I started to notice the chicken was rubbery as well (the end of the breast was cooked) and I was starting the thicker part of the breast. Raw... Long story short, both of us were sick last night. I will NEVER patronize this craphole again. I mean really? The cook had to slice this chicken and he didn't notice the reddish juices??? YUCK!!! Disgusting place, ...
Read moreThis place had potential to be four stars... However, two stars are all it got. My wife went in with my older daughter and her friend, and I followed ten minutes later after our other daughter woke up from her nap. My wife put in an order, and I put in my order later after getting inside. After a little wait, the server shows up with two plates full of sushi rolls. She says, "This is a lot, I don't think we will bring your order because your wife ordered all this and you can't possibly finish everything." Okay, probably true, it was a lot. I asked if she talked to my wife about the order and the amount when she placed the order. "No, I thought she knew. I did not tell her how many pieces would be coming out." Nowhere on the menu is it marked how many pieces per roll, size of the roll, anything. For anyone who has not waited tables, a wrong order or any problem with the order is the server's fault - not the customers fault. Getting the order right and ensuring the customer is satisfied is their job. Because I have done that job, if it is done correctly, the tip will reflect the service. Anyway, if a server talks down to me, and my wife (who has also waited her share of tables), it's over. Disrespect, we are not going back. Sushi was average, and nigiri was a clear attempt at adding too much rice to fill you up instead of caring about the correct fish to rice ratio. Price is not worth all I can eat if the experience is not good too. SOLID...
Read moreWe arrived at the location under something of a time crunch because we had a concert to attend shortly thereafter, leaving us less than 30 minutes to be in and out. We were seated promptly and our order was taken as soon as we were ready to place it. We opted for the all you can eat Sushi for $21.95 per person and ordered 3 rolls and a single serving each. The food was prepared and served quickly and the quality of the sushi was as good or better than any either of us had encountered previously. If I were to offer any constructive criticism about the experience, it would be regarding the atmosphere rather than the food. While the decor was appropriate, there were two muted Tv's playing college sports which I found to be a little...assimilated (for lack of a better word). I would have enjoyed it slightly more if there had been some softly playing traditional Japanese music in the background. That being said, the issue was not worth taking a full star from the review given the absolute excellence of the food and service. I was immensely impressed. And after it all, we were able to get in, eat, pay, and leave in time to get to our concert on time. I would recommend this place without...
