Recently, my girlfriend and I decided to dine at Cloud 9, a sushi restaurant we had heard about in our area. Sadly, our experience at this establishment left us feeling incredibly disappointed. While the service was decent, the quality of the food was lacking, and to our dismay, both of us ended up feeling unwell after our meal.
Mediocre Food Quality: The most glaring issue we encountered at Cloud 9 was the subpar quality of the food. The sushi rolls we ordered lacked freshness and had an overall dull flavor. The fish seemed less than fresh, leaving a lingering aftertaste that was far from pleasant. The lack of attention to detail and poor execution in preparing the dishes left much to be desired.
Unappetizing Presentation: In addition to the lackluster taste, the presentation of the sushi rolls was unappealing. The rolls were sloppily assembled, and the ingredients appeared haphazardly placed. The overall visual appeal was underwhelming, which detracted from the overall dining experience. It's disheartening when even the simplest aspect of a sushi meal, such as its presentation, fails to meet basic expectations.
Feeling Unwell: Perhaps the most alarming aspect of our visit to Cloud 9 was the fact that both my girlfriend and I fell ill shortly after consuming our meal. The unpleasant sensations we experienced were indicative of possible food poisoning. This unfortunate outcome not only ruined our dining experience but also raised concerns about the hygiene and food safety practices at the restaurant. It is unacceptable for a restaurant to serve food that makes its patrons sick.
Average Service: While the service at Cloud 9 was decent, it failed to compensate for the disappointing quality of the food. The staff members were courteous enough, but their attentiveness to our needs was lacking. It felt as though they were going through the motions, rather than making an effort to provide exceptional service. Given the unsatisfactory food, the lackluster service only added to our overall dissatisfaction.
Our experience at Cloud 9 Sushi Restaurant was far from enjoyable. The underwhelming quality and taste of the food, coupled with the unappetizing presentation, left a lot to be desired. To make matters worse, both my girlfriend and I felt sick after our meal, suggesting potential issues with food safety and hygiene. While the service was average, it failed to compensate for the significant shortcomings in the culinary aspect of the restaurant.
When dining out, customers have a reasonable expectation of receiving food that is both delicious and safe to consume. Unfortunately, Cloud 9 fell short on both fronts. It is my sincere hope that the restaurant takes immediate steps to address these issues, as no customer should leave feeling unwell or deeply...
Read moreWhen you think of sushi you think of all the options that sushi has to offer. My wife and I heard that Cloud 9 has a buffet of sushi, so we decided to try that. Also, we just love to eat asain cousine. As you pull up to this building all the windows are blacked out with really dark tint as if the place has closed. Not a lot of parking space available so if you want to eat around lunch time, forget it, or park at the DECC and walk over. As you walk inside it's a complete difference from the outside. Inside it's elegant and grand with red fabric cushions, wooden tables with a shine finish, and elegant lighting. Our waitress didn't say a word to us as we first sat down and just left the menus on the table. It was wierd not even to be asked if we would like a drink or something. Then as I looked at the buffet there was a message written after the buffet price that if we did not finish the food on our plate we would be charged extra for wasteing food. I'm no expert at running a restaurant, but this was the first one to ever tell me that I would be charged extra aside from a price on the menu if I wasted food. Honestly it made me uncomfortable ordering their buffet at all. My wife and I still ordered it but knew we were not going to ordering all the different ones we would have liked to try, and instead ordered 4 total sushi rolls to try and split between us. So 4 sushi rolls plus two fountain pops came to over $50. It would be really great to speak with our waitress at this time but all they could do is nod acknowledging witch roll we wanted, it just makes it hard when you wanr to ask questions about a particular roll and they have no idea what your saying. Anyway, the food was delicious, it's worth trying at least once. This place has such potential to be better, but if they don't make the improvements I don;t see how they will contnue to be part of the Canel Park area in Duluth. #Schroyerfamilydaily #sushi #asainfood...
Read moreWe went there for a birthday treat for my bf and myself. Ordered, Unagi Don, Tri color shushi, kiss of fire roll, and couple of Hibachi dinner, steak and shrimp, and cloud 9 combo A, few bottles of sakes, and green tea ice cream.
Good, ok: Made a reservation for the Habachi. The chef was friendly, food was excellent. My bf loved the dinner. Tri color shushi, salmon, yellow tail, and tuna was good. Loved salmon. Smooth, soft, and had a good flavor. The kiss of fire roll was ok. Just too creamy for us. I didn't eat the Unagi Don, so I can't say one way or another. But my bf thought was good. A bottle of warm sake was good, but a bit too sweet for me. 2 cold bottle of cold sakes were good. Sweet, but not too sweet. Chilled enough to be not too cold.
Bad: We made the reservation at 7, got there 4 minutes after due to the snow storm. At first , no one was there at the front. Couple of people saw us, but passed us by, no words. Finally I said hi to someone, then someone acted noticed us. But they weren't ready to take us to our seat. A few run around, finally someone was ready to take us to our table. A group of 6 came behind us. The owner(?) asked them how many, then asked if they wanted to seat at the Habachi table. I was thinking, what's the point of making a reservation as they required us to do for Habachi for dinner, if you get a choice when you walk in? The waiter wasn't friendly at all. The whole time he came by once to see if we needed anything. I can understand he was taking care of both reserved and non reserved sections, but he never mentioned that to us. Just passing by, other than few time I had to stopped him for something. The green tea wasn't good at all. It wasn't any green tea ice cream I had before. No flavor, other than chocolate syrup flavor.
Over all: Good. I would order tri color sushi and Habachi dinner again. Oh, yes. Ofc a bottle or two of...
