If I could rate this a negative 2 stars, I would. It was by far, the WORST dining experience in Duluth, particularly at this Red Lobster, ever. We live about 90 miles south of Duluth and drive up a couple times each year. We always make Red Lobster our lunch destination. This restaurant has been sliding down a gradual decline each time we've patronized it over the past couple years, but we keep returning. We drove up today to celebrate our anniversary, anticipating our Red Lobster seafood experience all week long. Today was the most HORRIBLE experience ever. Being 1:30 on a Monday afternoon, there were only a few tables occupied. When she finally dragged her lazy butt over to our table, the waitress asked if we were celebrating a special occasion . We told her it was our anniversary. Oh, nice. But, if it doesn't mean anything to you, i.e. you've got no intention of making our special day anything out of the ordinary, or even SERVING US with the most bare minimum effort, then don't bother asking if we're celebrating anything. She took our drink order (coffee & iced tea) and delivered a basket that contained 3 marble-sized "Cheddar Bay biscuits" that contained an undetectable taste of anything resembling "Cheddar." She failed to return to our table for at least 10 minutes. Keep in mind, THE RESTAURANT WAS NEARLY EMPTY! After approximately 15 more minutes, she finally took our food order, and then delivered food to the table next to us. They ate and left the restaurant before we saw any food at our table. We sat in that poorly-run/miss-managed, lazy-staffed s...hole of a restaurant for the last time! After an hour, my husband dropped $15 on our table, for NOTHING, and we left hungry. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME, MONEY OR PEACE OF MIND AT THIS MISERABLY-STAFFED, UN-MANAGED RESTAURANT! They ruined our experience, and our special day. ... And the restroom was filthy.
The "Owner" replied to the review I wrote yesterday with the same, canned response he gives everyone, requesting that I connect with him on Facebook by using a special code. I don't do Facebook, so that's not an option.
My husband DID speak with at least one manager before we left what you call a "restaurant" without any food. That manager told him that "all four managers" were on-site, because they were having a manager's meeting. If the managers on-site at the time of our miserable experience were unable to resolve this, I have no confidence that the "owner" will make it any better. That ship has sailed. We cannot get back our special...
Read moreOkay so I love red lobster. Just love it. However, I just had the most awful experience. I went for unlimited shrimp and it was fine I suppose, it tasted really fishy though. That’s alright. What can I do about that? Sometimes that’s just how it rolls. But my DIET PEPSI. Don’t even get me started on my Diet Pepsi. I asked for a little bit of grenadine in it to make a cherry Diet Pepsi. I swear to god they must have put a 1 to 1 ratio of syrup to soda in there. It was bright red and literally thick. It was so disgusting I could barely drink it. I kept trying to ask for water but the waitress would just sashay away with her hips swinging from side to side before I could ask. She was a little bit sassy to put it nicely. Also, we waited forever for our baked potatoes, which is fine. I understand they take a while to cook. The thing is though, I think they forgot to cook them entirely. They were so hard it certain spots that I couldn’t even get my fork though it. It was completely raw. This was weird to me because the last time I went to red lobster I had such an exquisite loaded baked potato. It was what I was looking forward to the most. So as you can imagine I was really disappointed about the state of my potato today. It was as hard as a ROCK. ROCK HARD. I couldn’t possibly eat it. Finally, at the end of the meal. This is the worst part. They bought us only one check. They didn’t even ask if we were together or separate. This has never happened to me especially because I go out to eat with friends. Friends that are the same gender as me. So I was a little confused about this. I asked the waitress for two bills and she said no. She said she would split the bill evenly between us. This was sort of a problem since we got different things. I mean what the F. And she was so rude to me about it too. She looked at me with her swaying hips and her sassy attitude and she said “I’ll just split it…” and she was mad at me that I would even ask such a thing. Like lady sorry you have to do your job. Don’t take it out on me for gods sake. Get a new job every where is hiring. We live in a free country if you didn’t know. So me and my friend who is not dating me had to do the math about how to pay each other back. Anyways I tipped the nasty lady. 20 percent because I am generous. Hopefully she is inspired by my kindness to start being kind herself. Silly lady…. Anyways don’t go here go to Applebees instead. You’ll wish you were at Applebees while you are at...
Read moreFamily in town and tried to order on-line from Inn on Lake Superior. First order took 24 minutes because Red Lobster wouldn't accept Gift Card. Order came to $98. Second order took 40 minutes to complete because Red Lobster wouldn't accept Rewards Coupons on-line. We had no choice but to call in the entire $94 order. The first waiter didn't know how to take To Go orders over the phone. The Supervisor that came on the phone didn't know how to take Rewards Coupons over the phone. Finally talked to Aaron, Red Lobster manager and got him to take the entire order honoring the Rewards Coupons and Gift Card. What a long, unnecessary process. Then my sister was told her order would take up to an hour. When we arrived at the Duluth, Minnesota location and it was dark, there were 7 big rocks right in front of the door. It was an accident waiting to happen because a person couldn't see them. We were told the rocks were sitting there to cover up a deep hole in the cement. Once inside, my son and I waited about 20 minutes for about $200 worth of food. Once the bags were put onto the counter, we were amazed all of the orders were right. Back at the hotel, we sorted out all of the food and drinks. For the most part, the food was good. The 7 ounce steak was rather rare and I order medium rare and the $7 drink we got was so watered down we through it away. I've had bad experiences with Red Lobster in Duluth before but wanted to give the store another chance. What a mistake. It is unlikely my party of 6 will ever visit this Red Lobster again. It seems it has just gone down hill these past 5 years and we wouldn't be surprised if this location is another one scheduled to close...
