Update: I was specifically told that there were no dairy free/vegan items on the menu. What items are supposed to be available? Were they sold out or did the worker not bother to give correct information? Usually when someone inquires about ingredients you let them know the options and just notify that they're sold out or available on certain days, but we were told flat out "no". There was also nothing on the website to tell us what options were on the menu, nor were they listed on the in-store menu or item tags in the display case. So, again, did the adult worker not care to help customers with questions or what? I get being new to a job and being young at your first job, but there should be a list of ingredients easily accessible for your employees to answer questions. That's actually required per health code in most cities. Employees should be trained on the products before they work on the floor with customers.
There were children blocking the doorway so we were unable to access the "flat" entryway. Please ask your customers to keep their children out of walkways so that the space can ACTUALLY be accessible. You can be family and child friendly without letting them have free reign of the space.
-- Not accessible for people in wheelchairs or that need mobility aids. Not allergy-friendly or vegan-friendly. The worker was not very helpful with our questions and the 13 year old working the register didn't know anything. There were children running around which made it hard to walk through the already tough to...
Read moreIf you are going to charge almost $5 for just black coffee, customers as a result will have a higher expectation for quality customer service, which was lacking on today’s visit. As a businessman that visits the Duluth area for work, I thought I’d give this place a try, as I needed to get some work done for the day. From the outside, this establishment appears to be inviting and welcoming with it’s garage style entrance. To my surprise, the woman with the short hair and bicep tattoo was strangely rude and passive aggressive that was very off putting from a customer standpoint. I explained to her that it was my first time at Best Bread, so I’m not entirely sure where the rudeness was originating from. Maybe I reminded her of someone else or there was something about me that was triggering for her. Again, I’m not sure. As I sat and drank my coffee, I observed how she was treating other customers more respectfully, so it’s very odd considering the fact that I was kind and and friendly. From reading the other reviews, I noticed several other customers have also had very negative experiences with this same barista. I will not be spending another dime at this establishment and will continue to support other local coffee shops in Duluth with better...
Read moreOne of My favorite places to grab snacks and freshly baked bread. I train a lot of people that travel to the city for work, and one of the three places I have people go is Duluth's Best Bread. The variety is always great, the quality is always great, and one of the best things about the company in general is it's a small business that continues to evolve and grow to both meet the need of its patrons and the bakery world in general. They very often really it's new products that impress, they have subscription service that allows you to taste test some of their products and development. I think the best part about the company is their constant drive to improve on what they have and slowly add additional items that are vetted beforehand. Their staff are all incredibly passionate about the items they are selling as well, which really speaks to both the company and the product. Could not...
