My word. Has everyone been keeping this place a secret from me? I’ve had Lulu’s on my mental “go here” list for nearly a year. My family and I walked over last night and had the best pizza we’ve ever had. Sourdough crust is what we make at home, so that was the draw for us. Lulu’s sets a high bar and absolutely nails the execution. We had the bahn mi and the classic. Exceptional all around, along with the service. We loved being able to sit at a table by the window and talk while the pizza was being made. This is important to note: I’ve been type 1 diabetic for 36 years, nearly my entire life. Pizza is the obstacle my disease can never overcome. But — sourdough crust makes a world of difference in how my blood sugar behaves in the 24-hour post-pizza window. This, paired with my vegan-ish tendencies keep me on track. I ordered my pizza with no cheese + no meat and I was delighted that the owner didn’t flinch. Lulu’s absolutely passes my diabetic pizza challenge and I am so grateful to have a place this exceptional, welcoming, and overall delightful nearby. Pro-tip: Get a side of the garlic confit and put it on truly everything. All of it. Going back very (very) soon....

My husband and I came to Duluth for the day from Faribault, and we ate here because we like to support small businesses, and the reviews were great. I am SO glad we tried it! We went for lunch, there is limited seating inside (4 tables I think), and we got the last table. As we ate, many people came in to grab to-go slices. We ordered a small Lulu's Special (I think that was what it was called) and it was plenty for two adults. There are also ready made slices for just a few dollars, which in hindsight would have been enough as they are good size slices. The pizza itself was delicious! The sausage has a kick to it (which I love!) and the crust was nice and crisp (a flaky crisp, not a cardboard crisp). There was only one person working, and I said to him "You've got this by yourself!" and he said that was typical, as he is the owner and does it all. We chatted for a bit and I found out that he opened right before the pandemic hit, and he navigated through it, and remains open! This will definitely be a regular spot for us to hit when we come to town! Please support your local...

Get the medium because: Yes you can eat in in the car.

Call the store if they are close the the end of the night, the online won’t take an order but those lovely workers will accept an order 30 minutes to close for pickup!

Lulu is a perfect end to any night out on the town or late night passing through town. ( we stop when er we can)

PLUS, because we have tried it as travelers- a medium pizza still works with the passenger seat guest managing the slices and the box. (Ask for plates and napkins)

Give yourself the best! And car pizza is a thing…. It’s better than ANY fast food garbage you would be tempted to eat late night.

Pizza crust is on point and best fresh to bear the sog-factor that starts in every pizza box in just a few minutes. This treasure when you get it fresh is its crisp crust and the garlic confit is spectacular, so just invite it into your ingredient roster. And there is SPICE and that’s hard to find in MN.

It’s a gem in the...

We did a COVID-curbside order from LuLu's, looking for a good takeaway option while staying in Duluth for a week. Ordered the pesto and the banh mi pizzas and neither one disappointed in the least! Both were huge on flavor, delicious, and wildly different. The banh mi pizza was a little on the leaky side, but ultimately it didn't matter much for our happiness, and YMMV on that, probably. The tomatoes on the pestro had a delicious in-your-face balsamic kick that really complimented the rest of the pizza without dominating it. I guess they're still a relatively new joint, but they deserve more buzz! If they had a location in our native St. Louis, they'd be as unique there as they are here. EDIT: Oh, I almost forgot! One of the most standout parts of the pizza was the crust, which was absolutely delicious. You'd be insane to leave the crust behind with these guys!
