During a recent Thursday night visit to Eclipse de Luna, a group of six guests experienced what can only be described as an extremely unprofessional and disturbing interaction with one of the servers, Óscar A.
After waiting over 15 minutes without being acknowledged, the group was finally approached by Óscar, whose demeanor was noticeably cold and dismissive. He made no effort to welcome them, explain the menu, or offer any basic customer service. His body language and tone reflected clear discomfort and disinterest.
When one guest calmly mentioned that the service felt abrupt and unwelcoming, things took an alarming turn. Óscar responded with xenophobic comments, including, “I’m not Colombian, I don’t consume like Colombians,” followed by a bizarre and offensive remark about someone having a “white nose, like all Colombians.” These statements crossed a clear line and introduced unnecessary prejudice into what should have been a standard dining experience.
At that point, the situation became personal. Upon learning that one of the guests worked in customer service, Óscar began naming Colombian restaurants in Atlanta in a sarcastic, almost threatening tone—as if implying he could find out where the person worked or confront them elsewhere. This behavior felt intimidating, inappropriate, and completely unacceptable.
To add to the concerns, multiple people at the table witnessed Óscar consuming alcohol with another guest while still on duty. For any restaurant that takes professionalism seriously, this should raise immediate red flags.
While the bill already included a service charge, which is common, the quality of service absolutely did not warrant it. In fact, the group felt pressured to tip more than deserved, despite being treated with blatant disrespect.
This incident reflects a serious failure in professionalism, respect, and management oversight. If Óscar A. is a staff member, appropriate disciplinary action is strongly recommended. If he holds a position of leadership, this raises much deeper concerns about the values being upheld at Eclipse de Luna.
Perhaps most disappointing of all is the fact that the entire altercation happened in Spanish, just steps away from the manager, who failed to intervene or even notice. This points to a clear lack of supervision and accountability.
Until this individual is no longer interacting with guests, it’s hard to recommend Eclipse de Luna as a welcoming or respectful dining...
Read moreDined 5/4/24. Felt like we were robbed! Ordered charcuterie for $45 and the moment it was served I knew it wasn’t worth the price maybe they missed something, we got 4 types of cheese of 2-3 small slices, about a tablespoon of jam, walnuts, 1 type of crackers, 5 very small slices of sausage, about 1/4 cup of olives and that was that! You spread it on the board, it was very sparse that a lot of the board was still showing. Too bad I did not take a picture. We ordered 3 more items which were okay. After we left my son, who paid the bill, said it was the worst value-for-money food that he ever spent on. I guess he too couldn’t get his head around it and search for pictures of what we ordered from Eclipse website and true enough how the charcuterie was represented in the picture had more meat and items on it than what was served to us. Attention the management of Eclipse de Luna at Dunwoody, if you see this message think you owe us a rebate or an explanation!!! We’ve been in your restaurant several times in the past and I even told my other son to try Eclipse. However my husband is now saying he’ll never come back because it’s not worth the money. By the way, we chose to dine outside the restaurant (no rain, good weather) but now the “outside” was closed with plastic covering that we didn't feel we’re outside. I’m sure they have other good meals in the menu, but it’s hit and miss, and they have those that you don’t know how they could justify the price for example the serving of paella vs price could raise an eyebrow. We would like to pay the right price with the right value. Please explain the charcuterie!!!! If you look at this picture in your website that I attached, it’s not at all what you...
Read moreSave your coins and don't go. I cannot tell you how the food was because I was never given the opportunity to eat. I really wanted to go because of the reviews but I will never know..
First it's first come serve for a table. We found a table and NO ONE ever came to take our order or asked if we wanted food. I went to find a manager and I had to point out where we were seated which was ar a tabletop in the center of the room.
I counted at least 6 waiters that walked by and not one asked if we needed anything or the tabletop in front of us. The tabletop in front of us, had several gentlemen and no one had waited on them either and they sat down before we did. And no, not all of the waiters were busy. Yes, this was after 11:00p.m. but they stay open until 2:00a.m.
After the manager or whomever finally brought us menus, after I had to go get him, we noticed they were only for drinks and there was no food on them. When asked why there was no food, he nonchalantly says, "the kitchen closed 20 minutes ago."
Well darn, "we had been sitting for 20 minutes and no one waited on us." If someone had bothered to wait on us, we woukd have been able to order! At that point, he needed to get the kitchen to make something because we were there before it closed and had sat down waiting on someone to take our order.
To make it worse, he did not offer us any drinks or anything to make it right. He just kept saying "sorry" which is unacceptable because you do not treat customers like that. Like I said, don't waste your...
