I have been to many different locations of PF Changs for decades now and love their food, quick, and friendly service. On our recent visit to the Perimeter Mall location in Atlanta was not the same as all of our previous visits.
The restaurant was mostly empty for a Friday night, but it took our waitress forever to come take our order or water. Once the food was ordered, she completely disappeared and kept chatting with folks on other tables and needed multiple reminders about our food. She finally showed up with only half our food.
We had ordered sushi for our kid who was very hungry and that did not come out till the very end. I had ordered the Singapore Street Noodles which comes with Chicken and Shrimp. However, the waitress assumed I wanted it vegetarian and kept confirming if I wanted it without them. When it did come out after about 30 minutes, it was salty and literally uneatable. The chicken and shrimp were hard like it was reheated 10 times from stale food. The sushi was very sad looking and our kid who loves sushi was very disappointed and left most of it uneaten. He was quickly looking for dessert to hopefully fill his tummy and said there is no way they can get that wrong. The kids menu said "free ice cream" for kids. So we ordered the Great Wall of Chocolate which is a classic. Once again, it took us multiple reminders before the dessert came out. The dessert was good as usual, but with all that waiting for food, our son was tired and not interested anymore.
When our patience and appetite were depleted, we asked for the check so we could get out of there... Guess what? The waitress got us the check in a jiffy just like we had guessed it. She never brought out the ice cream even after reminders.
We did not have any patience or energy to send back our uneatable food or ask for ice cream again. I even wrote about it on our check as I did not want to wait for the waitress to come around to talk to us. We went home and our son ate ice cream from our freezer instead.
Worst experience in a PF Changs ever!
PS: I normally take pictures of the place and food, but was interested in doing that for...
Read moreTonight, I had one of the most memorable dining experiences of my life at PF Chang’s in Dunwoody, Atlanta. My family and I were celebrating something very personal and important to me, being accepted into a clinical trial for new treatments for a neurological disorder after a long 12-month wait at Emory University’s Research Center. From the moment we walked in, our server Jasmine radiated us with her kindness and joy as she greeted us.
Jasmine asked us if we were celebrating anything, and when I told her, she lit up and made it feel like her celebration too. Halfway through dinner, her manager Nicki also stopped by, and the kindness and compassion from both of them was beyond anything I’ve ever experienced at a restaurant before. They both went above and beyond to not only serve us but to connect with me on a human level.
I know many people reading this review will not understand what it’s like to be seen this way having a disability, but it was heart warming and meaningful to me in ways few would understand.
At the end of dinner, they both surprised me with a gluten-free dessert (as I live with celiac disease as well) decorated all out to make the evening even more special.
It may sound simple, but to me it meant the world. I’ve been through some very hard times with my health, and this act of kindness lifted my spirit in a way they’ll never know.
Jasmine and Nicki, thank you for making me, a complete stranger, feel seen and turning what was already a special night into an unforgettable one.
I hope PF Changs can recognize these amazing women for who they truly are. They deserve to be recognized and celebrated for the way they uplift and treat people. PF Chang’s Dunwoody, you are lucky to have them and I cannot wait to travel back up from South Ga to see you all...
Read moreSo I’m in the industry. I visited this location on early Sunday evening. Now from all the reviews they seemed like they were struggling a lot we were very skeptical. We still took the chance because I’m loyal to what I know and I wanted good Chinese cuisine. Beautiful clean interior and food did not disappoint! And for a Sunday, wasn’t busy but had plenty of tables that seemed like they were doing well. Food took a bit longer than expected but executed perfect. I burned my lip trying to dig in. The general manager Kay stopped by my table and asked what brought us in and honestly I didn’t even know there was one here. They need lights outside or something. I usually go to Cumberland mall where you can see the horses. That woman is very knowledgeable and they have a new menu coming. She is new to the store just taking it over. She seems like a manager who generally cares about her guests and not because we are spending money. Her personality and attentiveness to guests were not lacking. She was assisting her team, helping out everyone, and running back and forth with purpose. Definitely a sight to see and she gave me her business card for catering for my team meeting coming soon. I think that people should understand the struggle of a business before they judge by one bad service. Give them a chance to get in gear, because I’m very glad I didn’t listen to the reviews and I’ll be back really soon. I think people are just ignorant to society and you have no idea how much time goes into building relationships with people and trying to get people to understand the kinks of new restaurants. They are new to the row and I’m super sure once they get it they will be ready for all the action and kick butt. Thank you also to our server Shaniqua. She...
