As the reviews state, Great Place. So let's address: Should you get sandwiches here for the Durango-Silverton train ride the next day? Well maybe, but probably not.

The fresh sandwiches are great. Especially when hot and paired with a tasty beverage. The staff will box the sandwiches with sauces on the side to help make them more portable.

So its the next day, you found a way to keep the sandwich cold and now you're hungry. You bust it and try your best to dress it with the sauces or decide not to. The sandwiches are big, so the bites are big as well. The bread is fairly dense to hold up to the meat juices and sauces. Sadly, it still became a cold day old sandwich. Makes sense. Cold dense bread isn't bad, but it's not good. The sauce added a layer of flavor, but didn't help the bread and the meat seemed to have dried out a little as well. So maybe don't do the sauces on the side? That said Silverton is kind of boring unless you're shopping. So just to have something to do, you're more than likely going to go to a restaurant there anyway.

So my suggestion is... Dear 2nd Deli and Spirits, please open a 12th Deli and Spirits in...

Where do I start..?

Big Z Burger: The best burger in...hell I’ll just say it, all of 2nd Avenue and College. Add cherry peppers to expand outward into La Plata County. $8 on Thursdays...what?!

6” OR 12” Italian: Order it hot then call your mom because this is one super hot Italian and you’re bringing her home, especially if you went for the 12.

Fried Bologna: Honestly, it’s just alright...not sure what all the hype pisis nbnkwkwnwwwwwsms.....give me back my phone sandwich hater! It’s great! Order it! Now!

Ambiance: 10/10 Location: 12/10 Speed: 11/10 Conversation: depending on individual - 10/10 to 13,000/10 Lighting: 10/10 Temperature: 12/10. Meaning really good, not 10 being on the hot end. Drinks: immaculate Art: 👸🏼 Outdoor seating: yup!

Local chef nights are the jam, they support local beer, it’s a family friendly not-super-spendy locally owned and concrete bar toned kinda place! Check it out, you won’t be...

First timer from out of town. Tried this place, looking forward to the pasta salad, due to it's raved reviews.... It was not good at all!! Smelled & tasted sour, like it was spoiled, and it was dry. The sandwich was good, but one side of the sandwich was under toasted, while the side facing up was toasted perfectly. This made the side facing down soggy. The fillings were plenty and the flavor of the sandwich was good, but it would have been much better had it been toasted evenly. I had the Southwest sandwich with turkey, bacon, & green chili. The chili was the most flavorful of it all. Service wasn't very friendly, but I excused it because they were busy, although I myself would not have let that interfere with my service. All in all definitely mid and pricey to pay for some food...

2nd Deli & Spirits is exactly what it promises to be—good sandwiches, cold drinks, and a no-frills vibe that somehow makes you feel right at home. The staff was genuinely friendly and welcoming, which balanced out the chaotic charm of the place. The whole place gives off strong “day drinker with a soccer tattoo who will fight you if you disrespect his team” energy—but in the best, most entertaining way possible. It’s the kind of joint where you grab a Reuben, a whiskey, and instantly stop caring about your to-do list. Definitely worth the visit if you’re into sandwiches and scenes with personality.

This is a bar- that serves food. Not recommended for dinner. It was so loud we had to get food to go- banh mi- pork belly was burnt/ not tasty at all- had so much sauce on it- I guess to cover the taste of the rest of the sandwich/ Philly was good enough. And daughter was happy with the burger. Sandwiches were served with chips. Glad I tried it- as out of towners- can mark it off my list of things I’ve tried. Wouldn’t come back for the food. I’m sure if you were looking for a place to get drinks with buddies it would be just fine. Service was as well as to be expected in a bar with loud atmosphere.
