{{{{BED BUGS}}}} Went for a quick trip to ski. Booked hotel the night before we left for 3 nights. Walked in and was not surprised. First thought dingy and dirty. Walked into bathroom, it looked as if it wasn't cleaned properly. Than slightly checked for bugs (didn't really know what to look for.) 1st night I itched like a dog with LOTS of fleas. 2nd night itching again. Early that morning my husband woke me up to see the snow falling at 5am, went to lay back down and there was a bed bug crawling on my pillow. That day went to office and told them privately so that people wouldn't be alarmed. The lady asked if I wanted to change my sheets. In my head I'm thinking what's that gonna do???????? Than she asked if we wanted to switch rooms, in my head I'm thinking is there more in the next room, am I gonna bring the 2 nights of accumulation of staying in that room are they going to hitch a ride with us??????? I was trying to be kind and considerate... Wrong thing to do........ Should've handled it the way I really felt inside to freak out...... Well my husband talked to the MANAGER and she made it seem like we brought them in, complete denial that there could be any bed bugs in her hotel. He came back to the room not caring that we could possibly be sleeping in the car as everywhere was booked up and told us to pack. So I did. He went back and was taking a good while as this lady had insulted him the 1st time they talked. So I went up there when I walked in the MANAGER looked like a boiling tea pot about to explode, body language so rude I had to point it out. We didn't leave for those 1st days cause we never put treatment in the tank and it left the truck needing a new fuel pump. We rented a car for 4 days and was kinda stuck being in the situation we were in. I have a picture of the bug that came from hotel room 104. She can be in denial all she wants as we know what we saw. She should have compt our original 3 day stay but instead thought we were trying to scam her or like it was our faults. Only thing good about this hotel is the employees kindness. How sad they have to deal with someone like their manager. The room we stayed in had bed bugs and wasn't worth the money. We still had a good time regardless of the situations that took place. We went there to ski, sight see, feel free, and be excited. She didn't stop us and neither did...
Read moreRecently made a reservation with the hotel directly and they quoted and emailed me a confirmation for $116 per night for a 2 night say. This was for a 3 day golf trip to the area. A buddy of mine also made the same reservation and was provided with the same price. About three hours later the desk clerk called back and indicated that the reservationist made a mistake and the price was more than double at $250 a night plus tax. I informed her that I expected her to honor the reservation at the price quoted and she indicated that she was unable to do so. I requested to be transfer to the general manager who was very rude and canceled the reservation while I was talking with her and hung up the phone on me. But before she hung up I requested the telephone number for their corporate office and she told me that she didn't know it and that I would have to Google it just like she would.
Called corporate and they indicated the hotel was a franchise and they had no control over the issue but would send both the owner and hotel and email asking for additional consideration and that I should receive an email within 2-5 days. After 7 days and not receiving a call back I followed up with corporate and was put on hold for 15 minutes and when they returned to the phone indicated that the hotel would not honor their original quote and wouldn't allow me to even make a reservation at the $250 a night price. I suspect this is in retaliation for me reaching out to corporate. WOW! So now my friend and 6 other golfing buddies are all cancelling their reservations and we are switching our trip to...
Read moreA couple nights in Durango. We stayed at this Best Western as when I booked the reviews were so good and I am a bit picky. Once we got there we were assigned a room right next to the pool. I was concerned about noise and the very kind girl that checked us in let me see the room first and offered other choices. The room looked fine so we decided to take a chance. Turned out we really didn't deal with any excessive noise. The room was adequate and the bed was fine. The shower had mold which I truly dislike ever seeing. I don't understand how if kept up a shower gets mold around the edges. The air conditioner put off a moldy bad smell at times and was very noisy. I wasn't thrilled with that as well nor were my sinuses. The breakfast was really good with a lot of offerings. I was totally impressed with the service at the front desk upon check in and the breakfast. I came in late one eve and asked for a bottle of water. They charged me like $4 for purelife. (Usually $4 for 24 at the store). The was VERY disappointing. I could see $2 maybe ..but $4 was EXCESSIVE. I stay with other brands and usually they provide 2 bottles of water free. I have been trying out Best Western and something as simple as overpriced water after paying quite a bit on the room was a turn off. |Anyways, I'm not sure I would stay here again. This property needs updating and the showers cleaned out. I usually don't write negative reviews but for the cost, I was a bit disappointed with...
