🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 What an unforgettable adventure! We did the round-trip ride from Durango to Silverton and it was truly spectacular. Yes — it’s a long day (about 3.5 hours each way with a 2-hour break in Silverton), but totally worth it! 🚂💨
The views along the ride are absolutely breathtaking — mountains, rivers, forests — every turn of the track feels like a postcard. 🏞️✨ The train itself has such a charming old-time feel, and it's incredibly relaxing just watching the world go by. 🎶
Silverton is a gem — an old mining town full of cute shops, fun cafés, and that rustic mountain-town vibe. We loved exploring during our break.
💡 Traveler Tips:
If you have young kids, consider a shorter version of the ride — the full round-trip might be too long for them.

You are able to keep your vehicle there all day so definitely recommend after the train walking around the shops and grabbing a bite to eat.
