8th Ave. Tavern — Restaurant in Durango

We were there on a Saturday during Snowdown for the karaoke contest..The staff was very friendly and helpful. They served big trays of food that night but don't know if that's normal or not. Strangely enough they have a part of the bar which allows smoking.I guess because it's kind of a tent structure they get around the no smoking ordinance. Karaoke was great and patrons of all ages got along fine. They have one pool table. There's plenty of parking and is handicapped accessible. They accept credit cards for payment. Wasted bartender shouting and trying to fight customers in the parking lot after going ballistic on everyone and shutting the bar down early for not tipping him "well enough". Wild. 40 something year old dude acting like a complete child. I was warned about this place, didnt beleive it until last night. This is the type of bar you go to when you've been banned everywhere else in town. He kept saying "his bar" if he's the owner im stunned that he hasnt been shut down yet. There is a racist black man bartender that did not know how to mix drinks, so he defaulted to not serving us. We are from out of town and went to this establishment in order to have a drink and he was rude and had no competance in the bar. I would put zero stars if possible. And his excuse will be that my friend was not sober, but that was his excuse for being a jerk, since he had asked me what i wanted to drink and then said i was cut off. What a terrible experience.
