I really wanted to like this place but unfortunately it was a miss for us. Hope they step it up in which case I'd be happy to update my review.
Overall, it felt very pricey for the quality of the food we got. Most dishes are more fastfood like than gastro pub. Expect to pay almost $20 per dish with suggested 20% tip even though you're ordering food at the counter and getting a buzzer for it (to me this just devalues the work of actual waiters who actually take orders and bring food for the same commission- bring up the price of your dish and lower the tip if there's no service). We ended up paying about as much as what we pay for sushi in town, but for fried food and frozen fries. The fish strips were about quarter inch thin- the thinnest I've ever had them by a large margin, and were a lot more fried batter than fish. For $18 I found that somewhat shocking. The fried chicken sandwich was pretty dry in part due to the chicken itself, bread used and lack of sauce. It paled in comparison to another good chicken sandwich not far from there.
I'd really love to see this place do better and am rooting for them as they're a new business in town. This side of town especially can benefit from a place like the tangled horn and their cool vibe. As it is today though I don't think this is something I could...
Read moreService was definitely lacking. Food was dry, lacking flavor and overpriced. 3 adults and a child was 240 dollars for a basic dinner. (No options for children were available) For $240 we had to order at the counter and go pick it up ourselves. Take this review for what it's worth. I will add the fact that not a single person at our table finished their food....adding one slice of tomato to my burger that didn't have tomato cost me an additional 2 dollars.... bacon I believe was $3.50.......cheese was $2.00.
These services, prices and quality of food at this establishment are unacceptable for our local community.
Editing to Reply: 2 of us had 2 beers.... if I can find it I'd be more than happy to post an itemized receipt, showing what your establishment charged me. Definitely will not be returning for more nonsense. Tell me... do they slice those local tomatoes extra thin to save the environment or to just make more profit on top of the extreme...
Read moreLousy service and lousy food on an early Saturday evening. Then they charged our card, twice.
Three bartenders chatted away while we fended for ourselves. Found our own napkins, and our own silverware. Found our own ketchup, then had to interrupt the bart staff to get a bottle that wasn't empty. The burger was 'blah', the chicken curry bowl was tasteless, the chicken was bone dry and the dish had sat for some time because the curry had stiffened and the rice was cool. I added a generous amount of salt to make the meal palatable. I must be spoiled by my usual restaurant choices, I never have to season my own food. I would have liked to have another drink, but gave up. Then there was the bill; sure, I like to support local farmers and all that, but the kitchen and staff need to add value, as it is, this place is overpriced. To be fair, the guy at the bar seamed competent, but he was gone for most...
