Terrible all around. We were seated relatively quickly by an unsmiling hostess. We waited over 20 minutes with no greeting, water or âHi, Iâll be with you soon.â I told the hostess we werenât approached at all. Then our waitress, Addy, came over after a bit with menus and got us coffees. I asked for extra cream and waters but they never came so after 10 minutes I went in to get the creamers myself. I tried to ask a waitress for the missing items and Addy cut me off and said sheâd handle it, which she eventually did. The music was way too loud. We watched as unfriendly waitresses passed by. Our meal came out about 50 minutes later, cold. She never came back to see how our food was, and when she thought we were finished she slapped the bill on the table and said âIâll get this when youâre ready.â We obviously need to-go boxes which she did not offer. The guacamole was brown and tasted old and awful. I asked to see the manager, and Addy came back and the manager had graciously not charged us for the meals. I went inside to speak with the manager directly, who just made excuses, and complained about how short staffed they were and that they had NO time to even say âIâm sorry, I will get to you as soon as I can, thank you for waitingâŚâ-anything to indicate they knew we were waiting. The manager actually cut me off midsentence to air her many reasons for why it was so bad. She complained of having to cook, though she wasnât one, etc. I have been a waitress, bartender and banquet waitress for many years. There were times we were also very busy and shorthanded but the basics are an acknowledgment of customer, quick greeting, apology, a warm friendly smile, and âIâm sorry, Iâll be with you as soon as I canâŚwe are a bit short staffed today.â They could even put a sign out front saying âWe are hiring friendly serversâ, a sign explaining, âDue to Covid, we are shortstaffed at present. There may be a longer wait than usual for seating and service, thank you for understanding.â If you donât have enough waitstaff, seat less people so you are able to at least give some quality service. It appears Billyâs is going for quantity rather than quality, and that does not work well if you want people to come back after one visit. This was unfortunate because the Billyâs in Bethlehem was warm and friendly, and the...
Read moreFirst off, today was our first visit to Billyâs in Easton, and it DEFINITELY wonât be our last! Iâm originally from Southern California, so the seaside-esque decor and colors were lovely to see again. Our waitress, Ashley, was an absolute doll! Today was her second day on the job, and when I asked her about the history of the establishment and the owner, she took the time to share her knowledge with my son and I with such care and admiration about the origin of the business, her employer, and her previous experience as a patron before she was hired. We are embarking on our own service business adventure, and we found ourselves wondering if we could ever get as lucky as Billyâs to hire such a sweet and professional young lady as Ashley for our own business! The impression she left on us, being a reflection of the establishment, was absolutely charming. The food came out in crisp, elegant platters, and our breakfast was absolutely flawless. Perfect amount of butter on the toast, and the eggs and hash browns were cooked to perfection on a clean griddle, which left every item on our linen-white plates delicately golden, without a blemish. Ashley even provided us with extra plates for the additional course we ordered to share, and both the hostess and Ashley checked on us periodically without imparting a feeling of annoyance. I gave Ashley her tip in cash and was shocked that our meal was only slightly more than what I had tipped her! For all that we ordered, I had expected to pay much more than I did! It was BEYOND a good deal for the customer service, presentation, and ambiance of the place! We have dined at several places in the Lehigh Valley, and Billyâs has been the only place over the past few years since we have lived in the area that seemed worth taking the time to review. If you are looking for an elegant, charming, reasonably priced breakfast and lunch spot with superb customer service in the Lehigh Valley, Billyâs is...
Read moreToday I decided to give Billyâs another chance because it was a nice day to eat breakfast outdoors. Last time I was there I found hair in my food and they took a long time to serve us. Today I decided will be the last day I would ever go there again. A very nice older lady sat us promptly, but then the waitress took forever to come. After we ordered our food (the food didnât arrive yet), I asked to be changed to a spot that the sun was hitting to the waitress because it was cold. She looked at me with an attitude and said someone already asked for it but that I can be second to another opening. Between the time the waitress took to show up and the time we got our food it took 50 mins. Fifty to get cold fries, some French toast that my son couldnât finish because it was drenched in Nutella. Then a new customer showed up and they sat them where I wanted to go before we even got our food, not the family that had already asked for it. By the way there was another spot opened (the one the waitress said I could get) that they just never cleaned that they could of also moved me to...all this before we got our food. Point is that I was with my kids and we were cold and as a curtesy they could of asked us if we wanted to move because they had a table. By the end I was upset because on top of the fact that the breakfast wasnât cheap ($78 for 4) I got bad service. She even took long to get the card to pay my bill so I went inside to see if they can process it and there was another waitress (short girl) there which I said I wanted to pay my bill and she gives me attitude and says she canât do it and that she donât know where my waitress is at. Then when I told her I just saw her go in, thatâs when she went to look for her. High prices for attitude and super bad service. If they would fix that it would be much better but as for me...they wonât be seeing us again. I get better service at...
