Big shout out to California Pizza Kitchen. Every Veteran’s Day they offer a free meal for Veterans and it is absolutely free, not BOGO, or any purchase necessary. Starting last year it is dine in only, but hey. This was my first time at the Town Square location. It was very busy being a Saturday afternoon. I went in and gave my name to the hostess. I was told it would be about 45 minutes to an hour wait. I sat outside waiting and since it’s November and Las Vegas the weather was pretty nice. As the names were called, people would go in to their table or many people weren’t around when their names were called. After about 20 minutes, the hostess called for Dave. No one else answered, so I said hey, that must be me. She set me down at a booth and asked where the rest of my party was. I told her it was only me, so I’m probably the wrong David I can wait outside. She went and checked and then gave me the booth to myself. They had the Veterans Day menu already on the table. My waitress came by to take my order. I ordered a Passion Fruit Mango Iced Tea and The Original BBQ Chicken Pizza, my standard CPK order. I received my drink along with a complementary side of bread and oil. At the CPK’s I go to on the Strip I never get bread oil. I love the passionfruit, mango iced tea and the BBQ chicken pizza was excellent as always. I know I should try something else but the barbecue chicken pizza is what they’re known for and it is good maybe next time I’ll try something else. Now I must say what made this visit stand out from any other time I’ve been to a CPK is the friendliness of the staff. It started with the hostess, and then on to the waitress, and the food runner who brought my drink, and bread to the manager, who came by and asked how he was doing, and to everyone I came in contact with, and one of the waiters passing by even thanked me for my service. I mean it was a very busy Saturday afternoon but all employees had a very good attitude and were very very friendly. It wasn’t just one or two people. It was everyone I came in contact with. It wasn’t just that I got a free meal that give them 5 stars, but the awesome staff. Because of this will be visiting this location from now on. The only recommendation I would make to this CPK is to have a pager or texting system to let people know when their table is ready. In the summertime, it would be too hot to sit outside and wait for a table.

Wanted to try California Pizza Kitchen for the very first time, so we headed to the one located at Town Square here in Las Vegas. Now, when you usually walk into most restaurants your senses should start going through the distinctions of what is being made and the aroma of what you are looking forward to eating, but when you walk through the door at California Pizza Kitchen you only hear noise and smell nothing!. We were seated very quickly and that was a plus and our server attended fairly with the same speed. She was very prompt at getting our drink orders and then everything started going at the pace of a wounded turtle, but we figured it was just because of the volume of customers, but we ended being wrong about that because when we ordered a appetizer, it became a waiting game and then we were told that the complimentary bread was almost out of the oven and it shouldn't take much longer, they were wrong again. The appetizer was a spinach dip and it was a straight hot mess, I have never in my life been given a spinach artichoke dip with corn tortilla chips and as for the bread, it was a very long wait to get that stone cold, fresh out of the oven with very over seasoned olive oil. I wanted to have a sandwich and not go with what they are famous for (pizza), so I settled on the oven roasted turkey California Club along with a Mediterranean salad and my wife and daughter got pizza with a Ceasars salad and a Baja salad. The pizza was delicious and my California club sandwich was actually one of the best sandwiches I've ever had, but when it came to the salads, they were completely off point and I mean way off! The Mediterranean salad was basically a house salad with garbanzo beans and the other salads were just about the same too, so the only conclusion was to skip traditional dressing and treat the salad as such, a house salad!. Now i understand that the pizzas and the sandwich were great, but everything that was bad canceled out the entire experience..

First off, I want to say I had ZERO issue with the staff. The staff and service was lovely, the server was very attentive and we appreciated him very much. Now this is where I have to switch into the negative side of things. First off, I used to love CPK when I still lived in California but it’s been a long time since I’ve been to one and I’ve never been to one since living in Las Vegas. I used to really enjoy the small plates they had on the menu so I was disappointed to see that the small plates have been removed from the menu. After going back and forth between options, I landed on the Steakhouse Salad. I got the full size when I definitely should have gotten the half size. When the salad came out it looked very wilted and the lettuce did not taste very fresh the steak bites were extremely overdone and very tough, almost inedible. I forgot to order the salad without cheese and that’s on me so I ate around it the best I good but it didn’t necessarily impede on my satisfaction as much as the wilted salad did. You’ll have to excuse the TMI for this next portion of the review but I think it needs to be said. Midway through the meal, nature called (in a bad way) so I went to the bathroom. Both stalls were very dirty, like someone missed their number 2 but when nature is not only calling but screaming, you do what you gotta do. When I was finished fighting for my life, I noticed there was no toilet paper in the stall. After weighing my options, I had to end up using toilet seat liners and waddling my way to the other stall which was equally unkempt. To add insult to injury, I was okay with what we were going to pay considering we had two gift cards (about an $80 altogether) but the gift cards did not work and we ended up paying out of pocket for our, what turned out to be, awful lunch experience. I will not be coming back to this location.

Don’t come for any reason !!!!!!

We called about 4 days before our celebrate to make sure everything will run smoothly. We were a party of 12 people so we were fully aware of the wait time for being a big party , that was to be expected. When we checked in with the very unprofessional and rude Host, Christina , we were told we were a 45 minutes wait. We accepted and went to wait in our vehicle due to it being very cold weather outside . I called the restaurant almost a hour later and Christina then tells me she has tables ready for us . She then lets us know we will have two different booth. I let her know that was not going to work due to us wanting to have dinner and celebrating a birthday TOGETHER, talk to everyone. We asked Christina of how much longer will it be into we can get a full table . She responds with a chuckle “well I don’t know that , people are eating” . Obviously people are eating, she was just being smart with us. We proceed to the location and explained to the very rude worker that we been waiting so long because we expected to eat dinner TOGETHER.

Christina tries to make up a story and continues to tell me that she indeed told the person who put our name on the waitlist that it was going to be 2 booths. She doesn’t even remember who she talked with because she forgot it was I who was standing in front of her when she let us know it was a 45 min wait. She continues to lie and say that she actually did not give us a time and we were lying . She then states that it was our fault because we did not let her know we wanted to eat together…… it’s common sense! She then laughs at my face when I told her that is was common sense . If I wanted different tables then I would have said that from the beginning. We ended up being sat in two different booths and were not able to even enjoy a conversation with the other half of your group with out breaking our necks to look behind us.

Our server Skyler was AMAZING , very nice and kind.

At the end of our dinner we tried to take some group pictures and we couldn’t because we were in two different booths. Christina comes by and ask if we would like for her to take the pictures. A family member hands over a phone and because I was not in the mood to look at her after what she done, She decided to make another smart comment and say “it’s fine , if people hate me then they don’t have to look at me” … I was so in shock at that point . I couldn’t not believe they have someone who is suppose to be the “face” of the restaurant. She is the first person you see when you walk in and also the last person when you leave. She should be someone that wants to make people come back . Not disrespect people .

At the end of the day , If she would have walked into a restaurant with her family ready to have a great birthday dinner TOGETHER and they made her wait 1 hour just to get told, AFTER WAITING, that her family would be split , she would be highly upset too.

Her attitude and disrespect is out of line and very...

In the summertime, it would be too hot to sit outside and wait...

Okay I cannot stress enough what a wonderful experience I had here. I've been to the one by downtown summerlin and the one at the fashion show. Yes the atmosphere great (the seating space is very well done) the food was really good, so were our drinks. But the service!! My gosh! This is probably one of the friendliest staffs I've ever had the pleasure to encounter. So this is what I want my review to focus on.

From the moment I arrived the hostess was so friendly. She saw that I was quite drained from the heat. So she took me to a seating area right under the vents. Then our waitress came pretty soon to ask what to get us started with. She had a very friendly and warmth energy from the start. Our food was brought promptly. She kept on checking on us the whole time and made us feel like she really cared for us to have a great experience. Y'know when you get that feeling that they really appreciate you being there and are committed to giving you a 'this feels like I'm at a friend's house's' kinda experience? Well I rarely ever find that. Only places I can think of that do that is Vegan restaurants like Daikon. But the best part came at the end when twas time to pay for the check.

My bank decided to decline my transaction due to fraud suspicion. Last time they did this they gave me a call. This time they only sent me a code after about 10 mins of trying to run the card. And the code had no link. Had no idea where to input it. They told me there was nothing they could do because they sent me 'many' codes. That I had to go to an ATM. Fun stuff. ~ Well, the gracious way in which they behaved the whole time almost made me cry. How understanding, patient, compassionate and kind they were blew my mind. When I say kind I mean KIND not just nice. And so this will be my favorite location to go to now. There wasn't an ounce of judgement or discontent toward me from anyone in their staff. At the end of it, I guess I looked so stressed out they offered if they could get me anything 😭 The way they took care of me was them truly going above & beyond. This is the kind of treatment that gives you hope in humanity. If service is important to you I cannot recommend this place enough. Anyone you take here will be...
