This Tommy Bahama has moved across the playground here at town square. They revamped it to a bar rather than a full service restaurant. My husband & I used to go to the full restaurant and loved it. It was our first time here today. I was craving their French fries and their famous butter rolls which were amazingly delicious. To my dismay, they no longer offer the complimentary rolls nor do they have French fries on their menu! They call themselves a bar but have no French fries? They instead have tator tots. Tator tots is something that you would eat at a school cafeteria not at an overpriced bar. I ordered the grilled chicken & mango salad. They did allow me to substitute shrimp instead of chicken which was great. The salad was extremely basic. It was drenched in dressing. I should have told them on the side. The worst part was they dumped so many dried blueberries and almonds. Look at the photo and you will see how much blueberries there were. I told the waitress and she even said somebody had a heavy hand with the blueberries! She offered to get me more greens to balance it out. I mean…If wanted a trail mix, I would have gone to Trader Joe’s and bought a package! My husband ordered the ahi poke bowl. The amount and the size of the ahi was shameful but then again I just got back from Hawaii and ate fresh ahi poke daily. The size of their poke was minced, you didn’t get chunks and it surely was not fresh. When I think of a poke bowl it generally has rice, this one did not. Only thing I enjoyed was the ice tea. However, the ONLY sweetener they carried was an equal! Who uses equal these days? Not even a Splenda packet was available. To top it off, the waiter said we can self serve our water outside with their water dispenser! Unbelievable. The glasses were also made of clear plastic and not actual glass. I honestly did not enjoy my meal here. It was way overpriced. There are other bars that have much better food. I will say that the actual restaurant is aesthetically pleasing and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The other issue I had was it was extremely hot inside. They didn’t bother to close the doors to keep it cool. There was also an outdoor dining if you wanted to sweat while you ate. The store next door was smaller than the older location. Way too many employees and not enough customers. I felt that they were hovering since they didn’t have anything to do or arrange which as a consumer makes me feel uncomfortable. Overall, I’m not impressed. My days of ever coming back here will be no more. Honestly one of the worst...
Read moreI’m giving a mixed review due to the initial rudeness I encountered when first arriving at Tommy Bahama Restaurant. The moment my family and I walked through the door we were greeted by Stephanie, the bartender. She was extremely rude and intense. The place wasn’t busy… I would show more grace if she had been slammed with customers. I didn’t know the process of immediately having to order our drinks as you walk in the door and putting a card on file before being seated. She was impatient, had a terrible attitude and very poor customer service skills. I was disappointed to encounter this as I was hosting my out of state family, and all of the other stops we’d made had been so pleasant. I will say the rest of our visit was great. The food was amazing and the Akim and Robert were wonderful servers. We sat outside on the patio and really enjoyed our lunch and the atmosphere. Try the street corn dip! So delicious! First impressions make a difference, Tommy Bahama! After encountering Stephanie we almost turned around and left! I’m glad we stayed because the rest of our afternoon was...
Read moreFirst time here, and I eat out a LOT, I will not return. Atmosphere is good, however food is extremely overpriced for what is basically a Tapas (small plate). Paid $18 for french fries and the 2 smallest slider burgers you've ever seen, actually smaller than white castle burgers , basically one bite and gone. I left still hungry. They make you pay and order as soon as you walk in and they never asked how I like my burger cooked, it came out raw and bloody so sent it back. Also since you order and pay as soon as you walk in, it allows them to basically ignore you, waited 10 minutes before someone asked if I'd like a water even though I ordered a water when I ordered my food at the front. , no body ever returned after my first warer. The hilarious part is they then bring you your check hoping to also get a tip, FOR WHAT? Ignoring me the whole time? Or not cooking my burger? I did tip but this place is a joke and I'll never return. A great place called Sickies is directly next door which I've had lots of great food at, please skip this rip off and try something...
