We were visiting Estes park for the day and we all decided on pizza for dinner. We found this place and it had great reviews. Keep in mind when we arrived it was still early, and the restaurant only had about 6 tables. We sat down, and it took sometime for our server Aiden to come over and greet us and take our drink order. After we got our drinks we ordered, and we got our apps right away. But our entrees were a disaster 3 out of 4 of us got our food. We thought well maybe the burger is coming out right behind it, 15 minutes goes by and nothing, then another 15 minutes goes by at this point 3/4 of us had completely finished our food which was mediocre at best. My brother was still waiting 30 minutes for his food. Our server didn’t come by, and check on us once, we had to flag him down. Once we finally did he apologized, and said forgot to ring in the burger to the kitchen. We then had to wait another 15 minutes for the burger. While we were waiting we caught the food runners and servers eating food off the guests plate. If you have an open part of the kitchen why would you eat food off the customers plate where the guest can see you? As a professional chef of 10 years I was very upset it is gross, and a violation of health code. Our server said he would give us a discount which he never did which he should of because he messed up our order. At this point we just wanted to pay the bill and leave so we could make our tour on time. I have never left anything less than 20% in my entire life. As a Chef I know servers survive off tips. But honestly this time I felt that he didn’t deserve even 15%. I tipped him 10% for poor service, lack of attention to detail, and care...
Read moreIf you'd like to try some interesting pizza combinations, this may be a great find for you! We tried several different items including the pizza and by far the best items we had were the Bean and Ham Soup of the day, the Italy Bread appetizer and the Bacon Avocado Burger. The Cheese fries were a little embarrassing. My son described it best by saying, it looks like they put stale fries into a block of hard cheese. We struggled cutting through the hard layer of cheese just to try them. A little bechamel sauce would go a loooong way in improving these. Melting plain cheddar over fries doesn't work. The Fish sandwich was decent. The build your own pizzas were good. The Beef Wrap was also ok. The Zucchini Pizza was interesting. We thought it was actually a Zucchini crust pizza, but it's not. It is actual pieces of Zucchini sliced up on the bottom of the plate with pizza sauce, cheese and pepperoni toppings, or anything else you'd like to put as a topping. So that was different. Service was ok. We had to ask for refills after they were empty for a while and she completely forgot to come back with my soup inquiry. If it was busy I'd understand, but it was pretty empty when we got there. Early dinner at 4pm. Only 2 other groups inside and a few seated outdoors. Location is great. Very nice inside. It falls somewhere in the middle for me. I'd go back for the soup and bread. They had an interesting trout pizza as well as a green chili pizza. Like I said, if you like different types of flavors on your pizza,...
Read moreThis was the worst restaurant experience of my life.
Let’s start with the service, it was horrendous! The waiter seemed completely lost and out of his element. Not to mention he never once offered any refills or even any true service. It took 20 minutes from the time we finished eating to get attention to pay the check. That was even after telling a hostess that we were ready to pay the check!
Next let’s focus on the food. If I could encapsulate it in a word... cardboard! Not even good, high quality cardboard. This was second hand, already been used, and slightly burnt cardboard. There wasn’t enough sauce on the pizza either. I will say the Raspberry Lemonade was the only highlight of this horrendous experience.
Lastly, the after effects. My wife and I are here on vacay and we’re walking back to where we were staying which was about a 30-45 min walk and we had strolled a little bit. About 10 minutes away from our hotel it hit us both simultaneously. The burnt second hand cardboard pizza needed to escape... It was all we could do to make it back to our hotel room. Thankfully we had 2 toilets in our room, which we thought was odd when we first checked in but were so thankful for it now. After an hour of unspeakable horrors that commenced the evil second hand cardboard pizza had finally had enough with us.
All I can tell you if you want to eat here is to ensure you have an equal number of toilets to the number of individuals staying in your room. You...
