Had a mediocre experience with the food today for lunch. In my opinion, this restaurant is overpriced. I ordered a turkey and bacon sandwich (the turkey was dry, the sandwich seemed dry) and instead of fries I substituted a small side salad. The turkey sandwich alone is $13.70. It would include fries unless you substitute a small sandwich then an additional $3.70 is added. So my total for a turkey sandwich and small side salad alone no fries was $17.40.... that’s a lot for a basic turkey bacon sandwich on plain white bread and a basic small side salad. Cornucopia, please include the option to substitute the basic small side salad at no additional cost, you are charging plenty for the turkey sandwich alone which will more than cover the substitution of a small basic side salad. My daughter ordered the tempeh reuben sandwich she said that was good. The hushpuppies were okay, we’ve had better maybe they could come up with a better dipping side, the honey butter was solid and the hush puppies broke apart when we tried to “dip”. We’ve had hush puppies normally with a cajun agave dip or honey cajun that wasn’t solid. They weren’t bad they just weren’t great in our opinion, they were $9.50 kinda pricey. Our waitress was very nice. It wasn’t too busy.

Was looking forward to visiting here for quite a while. Today was the day, a rainy spring Sunday afternoon. Parking was easy across the street. We were seated quickly and placed our drink order. There is a lot to choose from on the menu, and we all decided to try a few apps and get some burgers and sandwiches. The Cajun onion fries were very good, and the pretzel was good as well. The bacon cheese dip was fire. I was looking forward to the burgers based on the reviews. We ordered the dipper, the smuggler, and the Ohana. They were all OK. For the price, I was hoping for more. But I traded for the wife's French dip, and it was very good. Overall, I can see why some people love it, but for me, it was just OK. 120 bucks for lunch for 4, and it wasn't memorable. But that doesn't mean it isn't good. It's just not as good as I built it up in my mind to be lol. Fries, onion rings, and tots are all great, and the sauces were all very well done as well. Service was mids at best. And it wasn't very busy... I recommend this for people who like good American food and are close to the 5th st market. I prefer other local options for the value, but I would return for sure.

If you're in Eugene to stay or just traveling through, I highly suggest eating at Cornucopia Bar & Burgers. Just 2 blocks east of Amtrak Train Station. They open at 8am. For the early travelers. I came in starving, not knowing what to expect. Was greeted with smiles all around. Happy go lucky environment. And the food...... O.M.G!!!! If you're looking for Chicken and Waffles, U can order them SPECIAL. I highly suggest. " brit's Kentucky breakfast ". You get two strips of thick, light and fluffy Chicken Strips, two thick slices bacon, 2 eggs, 2 melted slices of cheese all bedded on huge , thick, light and fluffy buttermilk biscuits, all drizzled with flavorful sausage gravy and home style fried potatoes. "TO DIE FOR!!!" This platter of food will easily feed 2 people at very reasonable prices. The next time your in town, come on down and see for yourself what all the fuss is about. And Don't forget to always tip your bartender.......

This is an addendum to my previous (see below) review in response to the business owner's reply to me, which was appreciated:

Thank you for taking note of my review and for responding. This leads me to believe that you are concerned and taking responsibilities to prevent an incident such as mine from happening again. Reviewing policies with staff is a positive step.

I also compliment you for valuing your customers and appreciate your aim to provide a satisfactory dining experience. I feel that reviews are one way to get feedback on how to better improve your restaurant’s reputation.

Below are details from my receipt: 12/6/24 @ 1:33 pm, Invoice 241286-03-4

Thank you for listening. I commend you for your efforts.

(Previous review): This review is for the 5th Street Cornucopia.

The first thing I noticed as we walked in the restaurant was the heavy smell of grease. Also, due to the very loud music playing overhead, it was not restful to enjoy the meal or to converse with your table companion.

The service was nothing exceptional: taking our orders then serving it, which is the job of the waitress/waiter. I dislike the fact that it seems mandatory (although it is written on the receipt as a "suggested tip"), to add an extra fee for a tip, especially if it is not warranted. This is the only country I know that does that. Plus, come to find out, when I checked my banking account, the waitress added an extra $5.00 tip for herself without my permission. That is dishonest and not acceptable.

I disputed the extra tip charge with the credit card company; they were kind enough to credit my card the extra charge that was not authorized, and will advise the restaurant of this incident. I am writing this review to advise others to be aware of...

The food is good but overpriced. Like really overpriced. Paying $20 for what is a $14 burger at best. $20 for what is a $12 salad at best. $18 for what is a $8 bowl of soup, at best. The portions are on par with other restaurants but can you at least offer something like unlimited tots or fries for those prices? Everything from the bar that I've had has always been good as well. Good bartending, good selections of beer and liquor. Clean glasses! I don't know why that's been so hard to find, but theirs is always clean.

I have found the service at the 5th Street location to be amazing and this is actually why I keep coming back. Well, that and my mother and kids both really love this place. But it's been my experience that the staff is friendly, professional, attentive, clean in appearance and cheerful. They generally have a good attitude and are always pleasant to deal with. So for me it's a win-win.

The atmosphere inside is somewhat plain for what it is, I feel like it's bare and could use more, but I couldn't really tell you what. I'm certain your staff has some good ideas though, you should trust them and listen to their feedback. I also wish you're outdoor seating had more shade, like a lot more shade. I'm not really sure how that could be achieved with what you've had to work with, but I always feel like I'm sitting in the oven when I'm out there.

I've had practically everything on the menu. My favorites are the cheeseburger with onion rings or the fish and chips and a...

This experience was a cluster of bad juju and not great atmosphere (music and flies). We ordered the cauliflower hot wings for an appetizer. Common sense says the dark orange dipping sauce on the plate was probably hot, but for some reason I thought it was some kind of roasted pepper hummus so me and my carrot stick were all in! Turns out it was the hot wing sauce. And it was HOT!! This mishap led to a coughing attack. And we all know how well that's received in public these days. During this coughing spell the music being piped thru the speakers had such a loud bass it felt like my heart was skipping a beat, which only exasperated the cough. Now a warning as to how hot this sauce was from the waitress could have nixed this entire experience. But also common sense. What I ordered was the baby bleu burger with no guac, extra bleu cheese, double bacon and sautéed mushrooms. What I got was sautéed onions. Otherwise the burger would have been perfect. And while picking the onions off of my burger a fly landed on it. I swatted at it, it flew away and landed on my shirt. I brushed it away and in the process left a grease and bleu cheese stain on my top. Two flies continued to torment us throughout the rest of our meal.

Otherwise, the hamburger has an amazing flavor and the fries are AWESOME!! I'll give cornucopia another chance but I just need some time.

Response to owners: Thank you for responding. Yes! I'm sure next time will be better. And we were...
