Great food, delicious Greek appetizers and Greek fish dish. Cute atmosphere.
The worst service of my life. Passive aggressive wait staff, or perhaps management? I’m unsure what her role is, but I have never been treated this way in my life.
My friend and I arrived around 8:50. Closing time posted on google is, as of writing of this post, 9:30pm. Closing time on apple maps is, of writing if this post, 10pm. We ordered and were told, when our food came, that we could take our time eating.
I asked for lemon, politely, for the fish dish. I was told there were no lemons because the bar was closed. Obviously there are lemons in this restaurant, and obviously for some reason she did not want to give paying customers (one of us a repeat and frequent customer) a lemon slice for some reason. I find it incredibly hard to believe that she could not find a lemon slice in her restaurant.
Exactly at 9:30, or perhaps 9:29pm depending on your watch, we were told she could not keep her dishwasher longer and she needed to clear our plates. The tone in which this was said is not what I, or anyone, should expect from an establishment that thrives off customers, repeat customers that spread positive recommendations through word of mouth.
If a restaurant business cannot keep a dishwasher past exactly 9:30 or shortly after, and cannot find a lemon slice before closing then there surely must be serious issues in the management or budgeting of the restaurant.
I was shown this restaurant and although it is very cute and the food is good, it is not so good or good enough that I will voluntarily return. Nor will I recommend it to anyone. There are plenty of friendly, hospitable restaurants in town that want my, and...
Read moreDon’t let the fusion Greek and Indian menu scare you away, this is one of the best Greek restaurants I’ve ever been to! It’s hard to find great Greek food, especially in the PNW. This place is legit. I don’t know where they get their oregano from but it is so much more flavorful than ordinary oregano, it really adds so much to all of the food. The salata horiatiki (Greek salad) gives you an outrageous amount of feta along with big hunks of veggies, a small is perfect to split with two people for an appetizer. The kotta psiti had a very moist and well seasoned roasted piece of chicken, the skin delicious with a ton of seasoning. The potatoes were amazing as well. My husband got the brizoles (pork chop) but we both agreed my chicken was better. I demolished my plate and want to eat it...
Read moreOur favorite in Eugene our home town. Poppi’s has been excellent since before we moved here 25 years ago. Greek and Indian cuisine. Really good choice of ingredients and great taste, always fresh, artistry with spices. We love the Greek salad, and they have excellent soups. The Vindaloo chicken is great if you love really spicy, the korma chicken or prawns if you like a bit more mild. The brizoles is an excellent pork chop, and either moussaka (Greek or Egyptian) is great for vegetarian.
Poppi's feels like it's all fresh, clean, absolutely delicious, and also more real and healthy than a lot of restaurants.
Sundays are special, Greek night, with a reduced menu of Greek food, no Indian. The lamb skewers are on the Sunday menu, not always available on...
