Walked in after placing an online order and waiting 40 minutes before it was supposed to be ready. Upon entry I saw a male employee talking with a female employee off to the side. The male was just putting his shirt back on. ??not sure what was going on there. Then I was met by a very pleasant young man who didn't appear as if he worked there. But he told me he wasn't working at the time but was an employee of some sort of upper management as he said he had just stopped in to give the ones who were working a " pep talk" of sorts and give them pointers on how to treat customers. Let me just say, HE HAS HIS WORK CUT OUT FOR HIM! He said such as I should have been greeted as soon as I walked in but wasn't save his greeting. I told him my name and that I had a to go order. There were what appeared to be many 'orders" sitting in bags on the counter. After several minutes of frantic searching to no avail. I showed them my receipt and order number from my phone. They still seemed confused but said to wait just a few minutes and it would be right out. So the pleasant young man and I stood and made small talk about his family and his efforts to improve himself which was very refreshing to hear. This went on for at least another ten minutes before I ask him if thought it would be much longer as my truck was running outside and it had been nearly an hour now since I had placed my order. So he walked to the back and I heard him ask if my order was ready. I heard no response but he reappeared to tell me "she" was bagging it up "right now". He then said he had to go. I wished him luck in his endeavors and sat back down waiting for my order to "come right out". After another ten minutes I asked the female checking out a customer at the register, about my order and that I was about to lose my patience as I had been waiting an hour now and that when the other guy told me they were bagging it had obviously lied to me. She goes away and comes back to tell me it would be right out. She then, a few minutes later brought it out and handed it to me without a word. And I said to her how ridiculous the whole experience had been and she acted as of she could care less. I said "really? Not even a simple apology for this fiasco?" She looked at me with disgust and proceeded to tell me "I don't owe YOU ANYTHING!" I just shook my head and walked out the door voicing how absolutely amazed I was by the treatment I had received. Got in my truck very upset and unsettled just to get my food out of the bag only to see that it wasn't fit to eat and had obviously been way OVER MICROWAVED. This "meal" cost me twenty some dollars and I had even left the highest tip listed when I checked out online. That, I sure wish I hadn't done. I have been eating at Denny's my entire life and always was treated with respect and kindness from the employees. But, unfortunately, I guess we live in a different time where apparently few people, especially in service jobs, do not care about doing a good job or even about how they appear. This was the worst experience I've ever had in ANY restaurant. Paid over twenty dollars for food that wasn't edible and treatment that was most disrespectful. It's sad. These people don't seem to realize that without customers there is no money to pay them. Anyway, Denny's, at least, on green River...
Read moreWorst experience at a Denny’s! This location is absolutely horrible in service and professionalism! Very disappointed and very much irritated by the lack of customer service. I placed my order online for curbside pick up. I called the restaurant when I arrived at my estimated time for pick up. I had to call twice and lady answered and assured me that my order will be brought out to me. I waited in the car approximately 20 minutes, after waiting I decided to get out of my car and enter the restaurant. I entered and no one was working on the floor as a server, no one was at the cashier stand. I stood there and waited and waited... 10 minutes went by and I had to go to the back of the restaurant and ask the man who had seen me standing there if he could be of assistance to me. He looked at me and said “Yeah, I’m supposed to be at the cashier stand give me a second.” I waited longer until he finished making the 4 shakes for the pick up order that was placed after mine! I found out later as I exited the store about this. He finally came to counter and said “Yeah?” I stated I had a curbside order and never received it. It was sitting on the counter behind him! He didn’t apologize, he didn’t say anything he just handed me my food! I will not spend my money at this location ever again and I will be contacting corporate. The service is absolutely absurd! I even called their restaurant as I waited for service and the phone just rang no one ever came to answer to the phone. I have never in my life had such horrible service! They are lucky I had to give them one star they don’t even deserve that! Most distasteful...
Read moreMy husband and I came here for a late meal after a comedy show. We’re from out of town and not familiar with what’s available in the area so we agreed on Denny’s. While I completely understand the grill cook calling off and employees having to make do with what they have, I don’t understand the deplorable behavior of the employees in the kitchen. With the exception of Lorie and Russell, the star rating is intended only for those two (who did their best, kindly explained the situation, even gave us discounts we didn’t ask for), the rest have NO business in customer service. We and other paying customers could hear everyone in the back/kitchen area talking bad about customers because they didn’t like burnt food or sent something back, swearing, mocking customers and acting like children. Correction: my 8 year old behaves better. One customer didn’t even want the pancakes that went with her meal it was so bad, I didn’t blame her. Initially while we were waiting to be seated, a customer who just paid had warned us to go somewhere else but we gave it a shot anyway. I can deal with burnt food but what I can’t accept is detestable behavior toward paying customers. Denny’s employees, would you pay for someone to treat you like that?! Probably not. This warrants a call to corporate. Management must be bad if you let your staff run rampant being disrespectful...
