Unfortunately I have to revise my previously good review, and one star is too much for them.. we just had an unimaginably completely awful experience at this restaurant.. in a nutshell, they gave false advertisement in offering an Iditeriod pint glass when you buy a pint- it is clearly posted on their door as a promotion from Alaskan Brewing Co.. they then refuse to let you keep the pint glass- which we have been collecting every year from them with no issue.. oh well, but.. then they couldn't get our payment card to work, they were less than accommodating in helpfulness, she even told us to tell her how her machine works.. not enough english to conduct business either unfortunately.. then the bombshell- the son of the waitress started getting within literally 6 inches of my face and literally yelling at me because he thought we were somehow disrespectful to his mom??? We immediately attempted to walk away from the incredibly unnecessarily volatile situation, however they followed right behind us, yelling unintelligible threats the whole time. I stopped and told them to go back inside and leave us alone, however the close proximity direct in my face threats only continued. I was actually afraid that I was going to have to do something to protect my wife and I. This establishment used to be a regular enjoyable outing for us, however with the change in staff, we will absolutely NEVER return. Was beyond horrible, to put it nicely.. We have never experienced such angry rude disrespect, and it was literally no fault of ours. I had asked to speak to management, they said no manager was there. I called subsequently to speak to management, and was hung up on. Please for the love of trying to make a better town for everyone- do not give this restaurant any business. We don't need these kind of angry, lying, cheating, threatening people in Fairbanks. I am still in complete disbelief at the events that transpired here tonight- over nothing.....
Read moreLet me start off by saying to food was good. No complaints towards the sushi, or the chef. It was the atmosphere and the service that was terrible. We order the "buffet", which really isn't a buffet. I'm from Las Vegas, I know what a buffet is. What they meant was you could order from anything on the all you can eat menu. We ordered the Alaskan roll, rainbow roll, 911 roll, and tiger roll. They brought us miso soup while we waited, it was tasty. We waited about 20 minutes for our rolls, which isn't bad. However, 5 minutes after receiving our rolls, they brought out an appetizer tray. Two potstickers and two eggrolls. They were poor timed. We had already recieved our main meal. They could have brought them out while we waited for our rolls. There were maybe 4 other tables, other then us in the whole restaurant. The rolls were huge, with generous portions of fish. Like I said, the food was good, it was just poor service. After we finished our rolls, my husband wanted to order another roll. He used the pen and post it note that was on the table to write his order down. He placed it at the end of the table as instructed by the server. She picked up the post it, and took it to the chef. We sat for another 20 mins waiting for one roll. The server never refilled our drinks. She never checked in to see how we were doing. She did however bring us mochi before my husband roll came. So we had dessert before we were done eating our main meal. The other strange thing was, there was a birthday there and they played a lively version of Happy Birthday. The strange thing was it was played incredibly loud. Like rock concert loud. I had my baby in the car seat next to me. I had to run out of the restaurant because the noise was so loud. It was a strage experience. However, we didn't get sick, and we walked away with a full belly. But we won't be back, the service was...
Read moreTried to give this place a try on 3 seperate occasions, after every visit we remember why we were disappointed the last time. We have never gone when the place is busy, it's always been when there's around 2-5 tables as I try to avoid busiest times.
1st visit -service was good, we didn't do the buffet, and the rolls were ok but had a lot of rice. 2nd visit- the service was ok, did buffet, food kept being wrong or forgotten and we realized a bunch of the rolls are almost the exact same ingredients. 3rd and final visit- the server was very weird, she'd come over and just stand there till we said something and was almost acting impatient with how slow we were eating, even though there was only 3 tables occupied and we didnt stay more than an hour and a half total. We did the buffet, even though they have you write down your order they still gave us the exact same rolls, even though we both asked for different rolls. When the server brought it over she made a weird comment about us ordering the same thing and we were confused, then we looked at our post-it note and analyzed the sushi ingredients, and realized they completely ignored what we ordered and just gave us the same things even though our post-it note clearly had different numbers written. This place really needs to step up service and giving you the...
