I want to start by saying that the first time I arrived at this place I went by myself and felt welcomed the service was outstanding because my server was very attentive, friendly, had a great attitude and went above and beyond. I was really pleased with the service I was provided and felt welcomed so I decided to bring my sister the second time around because we were celebrating and I recommended this place and had high expectations since the first time around everything was wonderful. Well, unfortunately that was not the case but quite the opposite. We were seated, it was not a busy day at all the place was almost empty just like the first time I went and our server white guy with a dolphin shirt did not offer water we had to order it after our drinks. food was ok and arrived in an ok time just as the drinks. People who started arriving later on were served quicker by the white brown haired girl who brought our drinks and they were a group they were also brought water in the beginning so to me unfortunately there is no excuse for the poor service that was provided to us. I normally never write reviews but I had to this time because we were left with a very bad experience they forgot one of our straws and never brought another one my sister had to get up to get one, we also felt pressured to order more but we just wanted appetizers and our server was like that's all?? He also never asked if the food was ok he just asked if we wanted something else here and there we ordered a second round of drinks that never arrived until I got up from my table walked inside and asked for the check then he brought them but at that point I cancelled because the timing was ridiculous and he never apologized he just said ok and returned them and came back to explain why they were supposedly late which sounded more as an excuse than accountability never said sorry. Now I am not one for assuming things or point fingers but it was strange that were the only hispanics in that place and we were the worst served. I hope this review helps the staff have better acknowledgment and customer service skills that can be applied in the future. I also wish we had the first server I had I didn't catch his name but it was a black guy. Unfortunately I will not come back to this place at least in a very long time they ruined our celebration night and they left a very bad second impression.
I didn´t see the response option after the owners respones so I am editing my review for it. Thank you for responding, yes indeed it was an NFL shirt because it was miami dolphins it was a white guy and a white girl server she had braids that night and brown hair,...
Read moreI must say it took me days to calm down and write a fair review that wasn’t based on anger. I’d like to say the wait to sit was minimal but the wait to see a server was never ending. We placed our drink order with the hostess and our secondary beverage order with our actual server due to the hostess not being able to provide alcoholic beverages. We had been waiting a while so T o save time we also placed our food order. This is when things took a terrible turn. We waited over an hour for food. Two tables around us, that was seated after us, had been waited on, served, and given the bill before we even got food. One of our party members went to inquire about our extended wait, they were told our food was on its way. When our food did come out it was cold, wrong, and even a portion missing. When our server, Daisy, asked if there was anything else we needed we mentioned the missing food and she got defensive instead of just going to get the order. She abruptly left the table without addressing any concerns or needs. It was at that time we asked to speak with the manager. During the request the hostess attempted to correct some of our issues but we were still waiting to speak with the manager. The person who came to our table, Jay, removed the missing items from the bill and gave a 15% discount to every bill at the table. We were satisfied to just leave the venue. However, it was in the last few moments of our visit that just was the final straw for a half decent review. The servers and hostess began passing glances and giggles between each other after leaving our table. Even if they weren’t speaking ill of us it really made us feel like they were. Now, to add insult to injury as we were exiting our booth a nail caught on a party members pants and tore a hole in the back. Not even a repairable hole. When it was brought up that this nail in the seat was a problem our party member was told “I hope your night gets better.” This is not acceptable. So, the spouse of the party member requested to see the manager again and the real manager, Marie, came out to address the situation. Marie was extremely apologetic and after seeing the offending nail, refunded that particular persons bill to cover the cost of the pants. In short, definitely not the Alehouse we were looking for or use to. If you don’t mind a long wait and cold food then this is the knock off Alehouse for you. As for us we will...
Read moreI was originally going to take the wife to Cracker Barrel for Mother's day but it was jam packed as usual so we decided to go somewhere else. We seen the bill board for Davenport Ale House and was interested in trying something new. We should have just waited at Cracker Barrel. The place had just opened so it wasn't busy and we were seated immediately. We ordered an appetizer, (an order of fried mushrooms) when I bit into the first one the taste was horrible, I thought maybe the sauce was bad or something. I dipped my finger into the sauce to sample a taste and it tasted OK. So I tried another mushroom and again the same horrible taste but this time I knew what it was. It was dirty oil in the fryer. I have almost twenty years of restaurant experience and I could tell by the smell in the air and the taste of those mushrooms that they had been cooked in dirty fryer oil. I usually don't complain about anything when I eat out, and I wasn't going to complain about this except for when the server brought the rest of our food the fries tasted as horrible as the mushrooms because they were cooked in the same fryer. I brought it to the attention of the server and explained to her what I thought about the food and the fryer used to cook it. She listened, and said she would inform the manager immediately. However, after that nothing else was said. The manager never came to talk with me, the ruined food that we did not eat was never taken off our bill. I paid, and I even left a tip despite strong objections from my wife. Having twenty years of food service and management experience I couldn't believe that they just ignored my complaint like that. I know that restaurants thrive on repeat business, I'm not sure how long this place can stay in business treating their patrons that way but I do know they will never see my...
