Foxtail Coffee Co. & Kelly’s Ice Cream - Clermont — Restaurant in Florida

My husband and I go to foxtail in Clermont every Saturday morning at opening. We are always greeted with a smiling worker, even though it's bright & early.

Our first visit to Foxtail was in October 2020. From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed. Andrew & Christina made it a priory to know our names and to know our stories. To be honest— even though we go as a coffee date, we look forward to having conversations with the baristas.

Let me get to the coffee part of this review. Spectacular coffee. They are very particular with their brewing methods and the taste proves it. They make sure that the espresso machines are dialed in each shift so the drinks are accurate.

Beans: we love their beans. We’ve had bought every type of bean they have. The Ethiopian has a lot of sweet notes and super light in a pour over (husbands favorite). Their Columbia is a very nice dark roast with hints of citrus. And their farmhouse is a well balanced blend.

FOXTAIL Coffee Shop 2nd wave coffe: Foxtail Coffee Shop presents itself with the appealing design and cozy ambiance of a modern third-wave establishment. They even offer cold brews and pour-overs with specialty beans, leading you to believe they cater to a discerning coffee palate. However, beneath this stylish facade, Foxtail operates more firmly in the second-wave category, particularly when it comes to espresso expertise. My experience with their espresso-based drinks was consistently disappointing. A cortado arrived more like a macchiato, topped with an excessive amount of foam. Similarly, a subsequent latte also suffered from an abundance of foam, detracting from the intended balance and texture. While the decor is inviting and the staff genuinely friendly, the fundamental execution of their espresso falls short. This is my favorite local coffee shop. The atmosphere is relaxed, welcoming, and friendly. I also order from here some mornings through Doordash and always get the same high quality with fast delivery times (plus, the local Starbucks doesn't deliver so Foxtail has a one up on them!). I like that even on Doordash you still get rewards points towards $5 off a future order so you don't feel like you're missing out on in-person perks. I usually get a cafe latte with sugar free vanilla and caramel and it's always perfect. I have also gotten their bags of coffee beans a few times so that I can grind them up for my work from home/weekend coffees and have Foxtail at home more often.
