After coming here for a year and a half, I was treated very rudely by the "owner" over something that could've been addressed with more tact. I had placed an order through their third-party service but realized that given the congested traffic, it would've been awhile before I could get to the restaurant to pick up my order, so I decided to call RIGHT AFTER I PLACED THE ORDER to let them know that I needed more time, and essentially, I was told by whoever answered the phone that it was too late to delay/change my order. Mind you, this was literally before I even received any form of email confirmation that my order had gone through. I ended up getting to the restaurant about an hour and some change late to pick up my omelet, and no suprise, they still had it sitting at the front at room temperature. I ended up just taking my order to avoid issues, and when I got back home, the omelet reeked of an ammonia-like odor making it inedible. I proceeded to call to ask for a refund, and the "owner" instantly became defensive and argumentative about the egg white omelet smelling of ammonia stating that they don't add ammonia to their food.... well no duh, ammonia smells usually indicate bad food, which I would've thought that an owner of a food place would know, but anyway, I ended up just getting in touch with the third-party for the refund after the "owner" argued that that is what I should've done. Ultimately, all he had to do was inform me that they didn't handle the refund portion and that I had to call the middle man. That's it. Instead I got a rude argument and a desire to no longer order from the restaurant ever again. Oh well.
Edit The owner is claiming this never happened and that I am talking about the wrong location. I can assure you, out of the three House of omelets locations, it was definitely this one.. I liked this one the best originally, so this was the only one I kept going to. Not anymore though. Just felt like sharing my experience so that others are aware of the lack of professionalism...
Read moreIit would be 0 stars if an option. nconsistent... when it’s good- it’s good, but half the time it’s not. Been coming here since 2 previous name changes/ owners. Eaten here over 100plus times. I am reasonable and understand the employment and Covid situation. This has nothing to do hear- lack of care and respect for people!! Today was the last straw... they just can’t seem to figure it out. The snowbird push is keeping them happy and the attention to details and customer care has faded. Most Staff is friendly and attentive. Not so much on this new server today. Managemnet is in the clouds. I asked to speak with the lead manager- the floor supervisor was quick to tell me that he was busy on the line and couldn’t come out.... btw- that was the last I saw of the server. I offered to pay for the coffee I consumed, but a regular server declined my money. The original server asked if there was a problem as I was exiting- a little too late! I was served undercooked eggs- no big deal in my opinion, it happens , make a new order. Another server comes out with my food in less than 2 minutes... the eggs were dropped back on grill, still had my pepper that I added o. Them, with a fresh piece of Swiss on top.... the runny, raw scrambled egg product was still on plate and the skillet potatoes and cheese underneath. An attempt to wipe the rim of plate was made but smeared!! I’m a reasonable person. I can wait. Don’t disrespect or insult someone by serving something like that , raw processed bulk eggs can get u sick- they are not farm raised- unrefrigerated straight from the chicken... the lack of consideration for the customer, and their health and well being was my last straw. I’ve had food poisoning... it’s not fun. FYI- went to Perkins. It was great, and exactly what one would expect from Perkins...but food was fresh , cooked correctly and safe to eat... I tipped the server $20- she was in the weeds and getting flack from some undeserving people! Pay it forward...
Read moreAt first this seemed a nice little place for brunch while I waited for my Jeep to get repaired. The food was good & so were the employees. The owner on the other hand is a different story. Before I finished my meal, I got up to use the restroom. When I returned to my table, it had been completely cleared. I still had half of a glass each of my coffee & orange juice, bread, and hadn’t even touched my fruit yet. I wasn’t made. Shit happens. I was running short on time, I just asked them to credit me the amount of fruit. Since the fruit was apart of the meal, the OWNER (not manager, OWNER) said that they couldn’t do that, but they could give me a bowl. I’m on foot, as they knew. I said that wouldn’t work for me, & suggested a 10% discount. Being someone who has worked in hospitality for 25 years, I know quality customer service. If I mishap like this happens, you don’t waste a customer’s time with drama. Mind you, we’re talking about $2-3. I told him that this was horrible customer service, apparently I said the word shit, which, to him, equated to “cursing him out” & yelling. No, he was 100% attempting to gaslight me. He then doubled down that I was being extremely rude. Women know when men attempt to gaslight them. He then kicked me out & told me not to return. Fine by me, I’m not a local. Unfortunately, that meant that the server missed out on a good tip. In all, this could be a Michelin 5* rated restaurant that was $200/plate & I’d still warn people away. Condescending & gaslighting customers is a terrible way to do business.
And before the owner tries to refute this, because he will, I will reiterate that I did not raise my voice & I was not rude. I’ll admit I said the word “shit”. I can also afford the meal at full cost plus a large tip. I wouldn’t have dined there otherwise. This was 1000% the...
