In St. Augustine for the better part of the day (today) and so many restaurants to pick from (around 2pm). It’s a heavy tourist footprint so it’s expected that the experience can be a hit or miss. In such an environment I am more tolerant. Well, Sangria Wine and Tapas Bar was a hit. There were six of us and I went up to the restaurant first to check it it out and there was plenty of room. Yeah, I did get a hesitation vibe from the bartender but I didn’t let it bother me as I am sensitive to tourist zones. We sat and Aaron (our host) was excellent and made the experience positive. The Sangria was delicious and no complaints on the tapas we ordered. The ambience was enjoyable. We would most certainly return (as a group) and in my case will also try to visit just with my wife to enjoy the balcony.

This restaurant offers a promising concept with Spanish tapas and a wine bar, and its location is fantastic. The outdoor seating overlooking St. George Street adds to the charm. Unfortunately, the food falls far short of expectations. In the photos provided: Roasted Red Pepper Hummus: The portion of hummus is disappointingly small, accompanied by a handful of what appear to be store-bought chips and baby carrots, likely sourced from a grocery store. Grilled Spanish Beef Burrito: Another serving of store-bought chips, paired with greasy, pre-cooked beef that was reheated in the microwave. This was visible from the bar, as the kitchen is in plain view. Beer was cold ✅ The server Reese was pleasant but awkward, especially when I made it clear that the food standard wasn’t great.

Out of all the time that me and my family have came to Saint agustine this is the first time something like this happens. The owner of this place it’s the worse, she even has the rights to push/touch clients without having the right to. she have no respect for the costumers, also the people who work here,we had a really bad experience, the cops even had to be called just to form a show because nothing was resolved nether less try to help us out, and I bet them cops eat for free here and that is why chargers weren’t pressed when they needed to be,the owner pushed and grabbed my wife by her arms, in other words I definitely don’t recommend this restaurant. As you can see in the video, once she seen I pulled my phone out she let my wife pass by to act like the victim.

I have come here several times and always brought a guest with me. The prior visits have been okay but nothing spectacular. Always hot inside and usually not many people there. (Not surprised after my visit today). Today I had my friend in town and we decided to take a trip to St Augustine and visit a few places. We thought some sangria was a great idea. Sangria was not bad, prices are ridiculous but we always expected that with the sangria. We ordered the caprese, 4 small slices of tomato with the mozzarella about the size of a half dollar. No Basil! As someone stated above the same. They threw mixed green salad on top instead. We also ordered the hummus and asked for focaccia bread instead of tortilla chips which made more sense. When we asked Tee if that could be done he said he'd have to check with the kitchen but it may be about $2.25 more. We somehow had 2 people waiting on us. Jesse was great. The hummus came out in a tiny dipping size sauce cup. There were about 9 bite size pieces of the bread and they somehow threw 3 pieces of a different kind of bread on the plate that were rock hard and stale as we took a bite. We asked Jesse for the owner but she sent back the manager Tee. He's the manager? When we complained about what I explained above, he had a comeback for everything. Oh the bread was made this morning he said as if we were lying. No basil? Oh, there was a little on there he said...there was no Basil we again told him. The unacceptable approximately 2 tablespoons of hummus he tried to justify by saying yes, the portions are smaller so we don't have to raise our prices. What?? How is that better for your customer? Still paying $13 and $15 dollars for each of these meals and less food? He was rude, unprofessional and started an argument with my friend about all of this. She had asked of he could do something about this and he did nothing. Came back with the bill with the additional fee and all. We asked for the owners contact info. We only got the bar number but I will be contacting the owner Kelley through other means. Most disappointing visit ever and will never go back and waste money on this overpriced and poor service...

This was a VERY BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. My husband and I have been here many many times and NEVER EVER experienced anything like what we did this past Friday Evening. We sat outside at a 2 TOP (with the encouragement of the staff when we arrived) - along with 4 other couples we did not know, and had a cocktail. We were each at our own 2 Top Table but again we did not know these other couples. We had some friends show up unexpectantly shortly after we received our order and they, as well, wanted to join. At this point there were MANY available 2 Tops by us for them to sit. Well, this is when the ISSUE started, The Manager (who knows if he was the Manager or just the one in charge) came out and told us that we were not allowed to sit out on the balcony with our friends and that we needed to leave the balcony. At this point we are like WHAT? because we "know" them we cannot sit out here?" You must leave is what he kept saying to us. If you have ever been to the Sangrias outside balcony, you would know there is no way to sit 4 at their tables. We had NO INTENTIONS whatsoever to sit 4 at a table. He proceeded to tell us because we "knew" each other we were not allowed to sit out on their Balcony. Therefore we needed to leave. The empty restaurant we encountered at a very popular time should have been a warning. Until this changes, WE WILL never be back. Its unfortunate as they have very good drinks and food. Get it TOGETHER Sangrias. I'm just very thankful that we are outstanding citizens and just walked away shaking our heads for what just happened instead of putting up a fuss (Life is just too short) and I feel very sorry for the owner of this...

Let me start by saying, I pride myself on finding great places and writing uplifting reviews. This, unfortunately, isn't one of those reviews. I graduated from Flagler College in the 90's, own a Cottage in St Augustine and return to my beloved town, often. On this particular weekend, our best friends were craving Sangria and Tapas. We were near this restaurant and even though, five years earlier, my husband and I had been there and were less than impressed,we were willing to give it a second chance. In a nutshell, we saw our waiter TWICE. He brought us waters, took our order ( didn't tell us about upcharges) brought it to the table and that was it. He never checked on us and we had to search for him to pay our bill. By this point,I asked to speak to the Manager and was HORRIFIED TO DISCOVER that our waiter was the MANAGER.When I mentioned the upcharges on the bill,he stared at me blankly and said,"sorry" and proceeded to tell me he couldn't do anything about it.I kindly let him know that it's bad business practice to upcharge a table but never mention it and had he mentioned it,we wouldn't have been upset. The way he is doing it takes advantage of tourists/patrons each day. The "Trio of Dips" was maybe the size of a melonball scoop each, and it was incredibly hot throughout the inside of the restaurant. Only go to Sangrias if you want potentially Bad Service by the MANAGER, SMALL PORTIONS and an environment that felt like HELL! We couldn't leave fast enough! Do yourself a favor, and walk on by...
