This location continues to disappoint. Sadly, it's the closest Moe's to our house so when we visit it's out more out of convenience than it is to enjoy the food and the atmosphere.
On our most recent visit (a Friday) we walked in to find that about half the tables weren't available (not totally unexpected, given COVID) and went to the counter to order. We stood there about five minutes before we were approached to order.
As we went down the food line another crew member was working behind the counter wiping things down, as if they were ready to close (we arrived a little after 7:00pm and they close at 9:00pm). I was mostly OK with that (I spent many years in fast food and I can appreciate the desire to get work done early to minimize the amount of work needed to be done after closing. However I took issue with the fact that as the young lady was wiping things down she was putting lid/cup holder DIRECTLY ON TOP OF the not-covered food items on the line. When I got to the to sauce section I couldn't see what the offerings were because they were completely covered by other items.
I don't think the health department would exactly smile at this.
We got our food, had to correct the cashier because she tried to charge us for an extra drink, and sat down to eat.
I seriously get the impression this location is going to close. The walls used to be painted colorfully...
a yellow wall here... a green wall there...
Now they're ALL white.
And any personality the eatery had is gone. G O N E. There was art on those colorful walls that is now gone. Like I said, it looks like they're either going to close for good or they want to be the single most drab-looking Moe's around. There is ZERO character to this place now.
The salsa station is no more (this little thing called COVID the Inconvenient), but they have a few read for you in cups. Ok, 2.. They had two. While good, both were VERY mild.
My food was ok. Since I couldn't see the sauces on the line I had to go without, and that make for a pretty bland burrito.
I LOVE Moe's and have for ages. I just get disappointed seeing how little this location...
Read more1 star - I had a disappointing experience at the South Hurstbourne location. I asked for a vegetarian quesadilla and requested the staff member to change gloves after he handled chicken. Unfortunately, his reaction was extremely unprofessional—he was visibly upset, changed his gloves reluctantly, and muttered what seemed to be offensive words in Spanish. He also argued that changing gloves was unnecessary because he was just making another quesadilla, but I saw it was chicken and not vegetarian.
This wasn't the first issue I've had here with this elderly gentleman, but it's the first time it escalated to this level. The hostility was concerning. I'm hesitant to return without seeing improvements. Until now I dialed it up to language barrier, not definitely not this time. He cussed me out in front of my kid.
The quesadilla he prepared was cold, didn't heat it properly.
I sent an email to the managers, but didn't receive...
Read moreUnlike Qdoba there's no meat substitute, and queso and guacamole cost extra! They do give a small portion of chips with the purchase of an entrée.
Also there is only one bean and rice rather than a choice but they also offer black olives and cucumber.
Overall for the money Qdoba is a better value so while the food here was good, Im sticking with Qdoba.
Also they served my meal in a styrofoam container. I'm older so I remember the reason most places went away from styrofoam so I am NOT a fan of it. This is 2022 and environmentally friendly, especially when dining in, should be a focus, especially for a chain like this.
