Arrived at restaurant and was told to pick any table. Picked one by the window. Looking out to the patio the window sill was dirty/ dusty.
Our waitress asked our drink order and we were hoping for margaritas I got a strawberry frozen and he got a house one also frozen. We were excited to see they were in JOE T GARCIA cups and were definitely fooled by them as I can promise there was no alcohol in these drinks. I know this cause my husband can have half of one and feel it which is why we only get one. But I couldn’t even finish the strawberry one as a normal person would have thought that they blended up star berries and what was in the drink was bits of them but you just know when something looks off. Especially when you get JOE T’s margs all the time.
When the server took our food order I was asked if I wanted corn or flour tortillas and the same for my husband. I got corn he picked flour. While waiting for our meal we ran out of chips and salsa. We waited approximately 5 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us. Several times throughout our visit we noticed many employees standing around joking and just not doing much. It was very odd how there were so many “working” but no one was actually working .
When the meal came all tortillas were in one container, but the corn ones were fluffy. I have never had a fluffy corn tortilla. Have you?
My spouse had the enchiladas. They looked like and tasted as though they were heated in the microwave. He also was to have guacamole. What he was served was maybe a half a teaspoon mixed pico de gallo.
My rice and beans were on a plate so hot I couldn’t touch plate and when I went to take a bite they were barely warm.
The worst part was when our waitress came over and ask how everything was my husband did the hand signal so so and I started to say something and all I could get out was Well. The waitress laughed and then walked off.
It is JOE T GARCIA prices but not the quality.
If you think of going to Esperanza’s don’t. Walk 50 steps across the lot to Joe T’s and just wait the extra 15 minutes...
Read moreCompletely Disgusted. Not even able to give this place one star because the experience was so awful. My boss and I took a couple of our clients to this location based off the good reviews. Our experience was incredibly disheartening. First off, I ordered the enchilada plate and it arrived at the table cold and undercooked. When I asked them to take it back and bring me a new plate, they did which took a little while longer. The 2nd time my plate was brought out as the same plate I had eaten off of and looked as though it had been placed in the microwave to be reheated. I then told them to take it away and refused to order anything else. Also, my elderly client ordered a bowl of their fish soup the soup was served to him with 4 spicy whole chipotle peppers still left inside the bowl of soup. My client burned his mouth trying to eat the soup. They again came by and asked what was wrong. My client explained he didn't know what the peppers were in his soup and had never seen it served this way. My client also just about choked on the fish in the soup due to the bones being left inside. They should have known better than to serve a elderly person ridiculously spicy soup with fish bones in it. Also, the manager should pay mind to how he approaches a table. The tables are close together and the manager was leaning in to talk with someone at another table facing away from us while his rear end was right in the personal space of my client. What an awkward encounter for them. I will never again take my clients to such a awful place. Most of us experienced sickness directly...
Read moreI’ll start off by saying it was our first time here so we ordered a variety of items to give this place a fair try. The chilaquiles and barbacoa taco were phenomenal. Everything else was mediocre in our opinion. Starting off with the chips and salsa, the chips were low quality and the salsa was more like pace sauce with a strong onion flavor. I ordered the cantaloupe juice and it automatically taste like it was made from a packet powder, which is fine if you enjoy that but personally I asked about their “aguas frescas” which means freshly made water or juices. I ordered the menudo, fajita taco in flower and barbacoa taco in corn. On the menudo, I asked for extra lime and hominy, I got neither and my wife had to repeatedly ask for the limes over and over until he brought them. On the actual taste, the menudo seemed old, like from the prior day maybe. The hominy was way too squishy but overall it was palpable. I also ordered it with corn tortillas and he brought me flower. Then when we asked him to correct it, he charged us for both. The fajita taco was nothing special but the barbacoa on corn tortilla was amazing. My wife ordered chilaquiles, potato and egg taco and a side of steak fries. The waiter wrote down the wrong fries (other tables had steak fries) and brought like breakfast potatoes. He initially brought the chilaquiles with meat which we specifically said no meat. Either way, once he corrected the order my wife said she really enjoyed the chilaquiles but wished she would have got the correct potatoes. Overall, the waiter got almost...
