I used to live in St. Louis for 14 years and when I say I met some excellent cooks who make slammin' soul food. Kitchen 314 transplanted me right back to St. Louis but via Dallas. This food makes me feel like I'm at Sweetie Pies in the Lou, or at my auntie Monica's house in Swansea, Il. This food will have you speaking in tongues, I ain't playing, y'all better go get you some! Got the smothered chicken with collard greens and candied yams. Also got the teriyaki salmon with smothered cheese potatoes and mac n cheese. Both orders came with sweet cornbread. The salmon was very good along with the smothered potatoes. Mac n cheese was bland but I'm not a Mac n cheese person so it may be good to others. Collard greens were well seasoned and the candied yams tasted like how my Granny use to make hers. Smothered chicken was also seasoned good. Overall, I liked it. Prices are lower if you order online rather than the kiosk at the location. I'm glad I checked our food before we left bc I got corn instead of the collards I requested. I had 3 piece dark chicken w Mac and collards. The collards were pretty good. The chicken was very bland, maybe it was just seasoned with salt & pepper but it didn't get ate. My cornbread was a waste, it was so sweet. The Mac was ok. Overall definitely not worth the $20 I paid for it. My son got catfish, fries & corn. The fish and fries got ate.
