The location is very convenient and they advertise 2 all you can eat options (beef ribs and catfish) Don't fall for this tourist trap. My son in law ordered the all you can eat catfish for $16.99 and I got the regular catfish plate for$14.99 so I could share with my infant grand daughter ( you can't share all you can eat, which I feel is reasonable). My husband and daughter ordered the ribeye medium rare ( how we always order steak). After an hour wait ( with a 12yr, 4yr, and 8 month old) they finally started bringing out food. The steaks were very cold and under seasoned. When I showed server, someone from kitchen came out with a single plate to get the steaks and asked if they wanted them reheated or fresh. I asked if it would take another hour to get a fresh one and he just shrugged and said he didn't know, so we said just heat it up. That took around 20 minutes. The quality of steaks were fair at best, salads and potato were good. The fish was not good quality, was the cheap "nuggets" that is the trimmings from actual filets of fish. Very random size and quality some being ok and some very strong tasting. The fish is dipped in milk first before dredging so the coating is a strange texture. The tartar sauce and fries were average. I would say the first portion of fish would equal 2-3 average filets in size, hard to tell. You must eat all fish before requesting more on all you can eat. It took a little over 20 minutes for them to bring out 2 small condiment bowls of even smaller fisher tasting nuggets. So unless you have several hours, don't plan on getting much fish on your "all you can eat" dinner. The resturaunt was super loud, we were seated next to the area with the sanitizer bucket. My hair actually touched the bucket because my chair was pushed up against the counter. My granddaughters baby carrier strap got in the bucket at one point. It was super noisy and after an hour waiting for food, my 4 year old grandson was agitated and starving. There was nothing offered to keep kids entertained. If you are traveling with children ( or adults) sensitive to noise or chaos, this is not the place for you. Food was mediocre at best. Server apologized after we paid, but will not be coming back. It has a tourist trap vibe. If you want excellent BBQ spend the extra money and go to cooper's. One of the best BBQ resturaunts we have visited. Ate there last year and though it was more expensive the quality was great and we will be eating there tonight. My husband is hard to impress and he has raved about cooper's since last year. I very seldom give reviews, but often read them and hope this one helps another hungry family on the fence about giving...
Read moreHorrible service! Went for lunch. Got appetizers, never got meal. 4 tables came in after us, got full meals. When we told the waiter that we needed to get back to work - did he try to rush our order? No. As we watched food walk past our table while salivating, apparently no one on the staff noticed all the tables around us that were seated after us were eating and we were not being served even after pointing this out to our waiter, twice. Half of the party left - starving. When the other half of the party spoke with Matt the manager, he had the nerve to say the he would check into it, maybe the kitchen lost the ticket. (But we got our appetizers!) At this point we have been there over an hour. We asked for our meals to be boxed - but guess what - still not ready. 2 of the dishes were packaged - 2 of us went without. Also, Javier the waiter was going to charge for the meals that were ready until one of us said we were not paying a penny. So, the manager wanted to know if there were any alcoholic drinks on the tab! Dude - we told you - we need to get back to work. Do you guys not listen to your customers? Worst service ever! Worst Manager! Worst waiter. Never offered a free meal - was going to charge for the 1.5 hour long wait, and no gift card was offered. Piss poor service - will never return.
And please don't respond with your boiler plate response of: We are normally known for our exceptional attention to detail, and we regret that we missed the mark. We hope that you gave our staff and MANAGER the opportunity to correct any problems, it is our goal to have satisfied customers. Thank you for dining with us! We do appreciate your business please come again!
If this is the only response you have for every upset customer - you need to go back to customer service 101 class - you skipped that...
Read moreI took a friend out for the true stockyard experience...
We found a great watering hole at the white elephant before getting hungry for a steak.
We located Ricky's steakhouse just by walking up and down the street and decided to give it a go...
Truly without having a budget and just wanting a fantastic steak experience, I asked if a tomahawk chop was available and was informed by the server that the cowboy chop was the exact same thing and was very good?
This was a choice steak at best and it was actually sawed in half where the bone attached?
I guess I should have been suspicious in the first place when she told me it was only 18 Oz? Most tomahawk shops are at least 22 oz?
Service was mediocre and I found it to be more of a tourist trap than an actual genuine steakhouse.
I never really looked at the menu for the price because it was not the concern, I just want everyone to understand that for a hamburger that my friend had and a tomahawk chop which I ordered along with a couple of appetizers and two beers with tip was $150! So understand this was no cheap meal...
I did the math and figured that I must have paid somewhere between 40 and $50 perhaps more? For the tomahawk chop! The meat was tough and not very tasty, it was a real let down.
Keep in mind if you're thinking you're in the stockyards and where else to get a great steak like I was thinking, you're in for a rude awakening if you decide to stop here for a great steak.
Sorry for the poor review guys, however I think the truth needs to be put out there for people who are expecting better from...
